Premium experience for a budget price
Needed a new phone just for the bare minimum and the A16 has been astounding in quality. The colours are brilliant and accurate, the screen is responsive, sound (while not THE best compared to flagships) has been on par with phones at least twice as expensive. Connectivity has been without issue, and even with half a dozen apps running, no lag or latency issues. This thing has been great.

Excellent phone
love my phone. I am partial to Samsung, have had 3 other Samsungs through the years and can't complain about any of them. Phone function is excellent, battery life seems to last longer than previous phones, sound is excellent, takes great pictures. I would definitely recommend if you don't have to have the newest model. Great phone for the money.

A little sluggish with some applications, but an overall good phone for the price point.
I would say that the phone is okay, so far. The charging speed is about what you would expect and the touch screen is really responsive. If you're wondering if it runs hot in a lot of different situations, I can tell you that it does. It also mentioned having 4 GB of ram, while technically true, this isn't fully accurate. It has 2 GB of physical ram and 2GB of vertial ram and that makes a huge difference in its' performance. This is particularly evident when you open the camera app. For comaprison, an S3 that I used way back in the day did not lag when going in and out of the camera application, but this phone does. Of course, this is to be expected, given the amount of ram that it has, but you would think that it would be better oprimized as a result. It is truly unlocked, just as it says. All I had to do was pop in my sim card from Verizon and I was up and running again. No phone call, no visiting the website, no putting in a code. So, I image it would work the same for every carrier. Now lets talk about the finger print reader, in some ways I like where it is positioned, in other ways I don't. We all tend to choose a finger or a finger print reader that feels confortable to use and not combersome. There are a ton of options to achieve this when the finger print reader is on the bottom bezel or on the phone screen itself, not so much when its' the same button as your power button. This causes you to do accidental unlocks at times if you aren't careful. but I believe that it will just take some getting used to. The call quality is actually really good and the camera isn't to bad. Don't expect any Earth shattering detail like you would get from the S20 or something similar. The stabalizers leaves a lot to be desired, but the video quality is actually pretty impressive for the price point. The flashlight on the other hand is a different story. It's not really useful in tight spaces or when you need light in a specific direction. It will do the job in a pinch, but don't expect it to do what other phones can in that department. The battery life seems to be good and pretty close to what Samsung claims. Set your battery to only charge to eighty percent and don't use super fast charging when you can to improve the life of your battery overtime. According to Samsung this phone is slated to get years of security updates and OS updates, which is why i purchased it. It didn't need to be fancy, as its' mostly used for phone calls and text, but you'll get more out of it than that to be sure. On to the screen. It is honestly impressive and has done well in every lighting condition that I have subjected it to. It does scratch easy, so make sure you get a screen protector as soon as possible to prevent that from happening. Some good points are the fact that the charging port is a bit receeded, a good choice by Samsung that saves you from having to clean stray lint out of it all the time. The phone itself does run off of the new fleet of Samsung chargers, so if you have an old Samsung product and charger from the last couple years, you'll be good to go. Overall it does the job and runs fairly well for the price point. It really needs at least four gigs of virtual memory to help it along, but you can't expect much more at the price point. It will be a reliable phone that will do what you need it to and a bit more. It has a better screen than most phones at this price point and it has the Samsung security and OS updates that run for years that other manufactures don't offer.

Excellent Price to Performance
I bought this phone when I cracked the screen on my Galaxy S9 and realized that a replacement screen at $160 was only slightly less expensive than an entirely new phone. I initially looked at used phones in the Galaxy S series, but even these from a couple generations ago were not cheaper, and lacked some features. This phone is excellent. It has a large, bright screen. I'm a fan that it does not have rounded edges on the screen, which should help against breaking in the future. It has expandable storage, it can take a physical SIM card and an eSIM, and it's 5G capable. The only things I don't prefer about this phone is that the camera (despite the reported mega pixel count) seems like it over sharpens pictures to compensate for lower quality, the rumble/vibrate feels cheaper (and louder) than my previous phone, and there are a few occasions where it performs a bit sluggish or apps in the background have to restart due to limited memory. All in all, this phone has everything I wanted, and at a price where if another break occurs I could just as easily replace it than deal with a costly fix. If you need the best camera or extra do-dads (like built in AI, or extra buttons for virtual assistants that I find annoying) you may benefit from paying more, but if you're looking for a solid phone for browsing, streaming or messaging, this is it.

Definitely not an S model. Ok phone.
I like the phone okay but the problem is is it has issues. Just one being when I try to close an app the screen flashes like it's going to close and then the app stays open. I have to hit the close lines again and then swipe up to close it. It looks great and as far as like speed goes it's okay I guess. I didn't test any kind of scratch resistance and I bought my phone brand new. I dropped it once and nothing happened. It wasn't a good case at the time. I think it's going to be a decent phone but I still don't like it as much as my S10 and that thing was almost 10 years old. I guess you go with what you can afford and this was an affordable alternative. I don't use these phones to their fullest extent anyway so I'm pretty happy as long as it has good security and makes calls when I need it too. This does both so I guess it's okay. If you're switching from a S model phone then you will not like the A model performance.

Just a great phone
I needed a new phone, but all the new phones cost about $1000, and I didn't want to spend that. I am in my mid-70's and I am on my phone a lot, for calls, texts, and YouTube videos. The main phones now are Motorola, Samsung, and iPhone. I am used to Android and so there is that. This phone is fabulous, I am so happy with it. I got same-day delivery from Amazon. The phone was 70% charged, so I could start right away. It directed me to copy everything from my old phone to this new phone, and I was able to do it easily. I drove over to my new Provider, and they quickly changed over the SIM card for me. This Galaxy A16 phone is perfect! Light and comfortable to hold and use, superior camera quality, huge memory capacity, and great sound for calls and music. And the price is right! I love my new phone.
