We've got a skunk problem. Those critters have been destroying my lawn and my last-ditch effort is to utilize lighting to try to scare them away before my yard turns into the dust bowl. I researched several brands of both battery and solar powered options and decided on the Philips solar outdoor lights due its supposed combination of brightness, solar sensitivity, water resistant body, range, ease of installation and value. Out of the box, the two lights appeared well made, were well packaged and included all the mounting hardware needed. Being a major company was a bonus for piece of mind and an included manual that made sense. I mounted the 2 lights around 30' apart on our shed's siding using a siding mounting plate purchased from HD. One problem I had were the included screws were too short to go through the plate, siding and catch the wood sheathing so another trip to HD solved the problem by getting longer #6 screws. The lights easily attach via a mounting plate and the light body just clips right into place. This is perfect because the lights can be easily removed if needed and it makes mounting easier. The lights are easily adjusted to increase or decrease the range of view and the solar panel and sensor both have a vertical adjustment although less than the lights. That may be one thing I would have liked to see is a bit more adjustability with the direction of the solar panel. There are three modes with one being on low power, one on motion sensor only and one on a combination. I opted for the motion sensor which stays on for 20 seconds. I do wish that could be adjusted a bit too but not a dealbreaker. So far the lights work great, they have been catching animals at night with a good sensor range and are very bright. I can't attest to the durability yet but I'm glad it is a major brand that can be contacted if something goes wrong. Positives + Good value with two units for a good price + A major brand with a real support mechanism + The three lights with adjustability are very flexible and lets you increase or decrease the range + The sensor seems to have a decently wide field of view and has some adjustability up and down + Build quality seems good (can't attest to waterproof yet) + Detaches from bracket to make installation easy + Very bright as a motion sensor at full power Negatives - Could perhaps use a bit more adjustability with the solar panel. Its angle of adjustment is limited by the light body itself. - Not really a negative but it would be great to have some ability to adjust the time of the sensor - Included screws were a bit short for siding. I think a longer screw would be beneficial considering this is outdoor and could be mounted on siding.

We installed a new shed and decided to use these solar lights for security and convenience at night. They were easy to install, two brightness levels. And oh boy they are BRIGHT! They work well too, they light up probably when motion is detected within 10ft? I know it's only been a month since we put them up but still, happy with the purchase.

I bought this light as a replacement for a smaller generic solar light that I've had up for a few years now and it is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade. it's very bright, but moreover, the light covers more of my yard and driveway than it used to and the motion sensor is also way wider than the ones I typically have seen, further, because the various bits are somewhat articulating, I can point them in the direction I want them, it's very adjustable. The one thing I really didn't like though is that out of the box, it ONLY has a screw mount. it comes with 2 screws and a plastic mount. the mount is well built, but I don't have any place to screw it into my exterior walls because I have angled vinyl siding. the previous lights have all been adhesive mount onto the top part of my exterior screen door (above the glass) which is where I wanted this. The mount it comes with does NOT have a flat back (probably to save on injection molding costs and improve part strength) so I spent an afternoon designing, printing, and iterating a 3d printed screw to adhesive adapter (the white part in my pictures) that I have released for free on printables. if you do a search for philips solar adapter on printables, it'll pop right up. the adapter does require some VHB tape and some heat-set inserts (cheap, super easy), and a pair of m3x8 or m3x10 screws, but it works FANTASTICALLY, like an off-the shelf part and was exactly what I needed to get this mounted to my door where it belongs.

These are highly moveable-- like front to the back...no problem, except for the Deer But the real MVP is how VERY sensitive the motion sensor is. It picks up movement from super far away (like 30+ feet) and at wide angles—cats, cars pulling in, even leaves blowing sometimes trigger it instantly. No delays; it snaps on full blast right away. Adjustable modes let me tweak sensitivity and timer, so it's perfect now without false triggers all night. Solar-powered means zero wiring or electric bills—it charges fully even on cloudy days and runs strong through the night. Waterproof build has handled rain and wind like a champ. Easy wall-mount install in minutes. If you want blazing bright security that detects everything and costs nothing to run, this Philips light is a total winner. My property feels safer and looks epic lit up—highly recommend! 🚀

After 1 year(ish), the lights have never failed to work. They are of great quality. Temu buyers beware, those products do not work after a few weeks. This system is top notch.

Easy to mount, bright, and good sensitivity. Adjustability is limited, but at the right height, it's not a problem.

These light are much brighter than other solar lights we have used. But the motion sensor has a very limited range. The light also does not stay on very long. They only go to full brightness for about 20 seconds. The way the solar panel is attached makes it difficult to mount them in a way that they light up what you want and still get the sunlight they need. The instructions were awful. There are a few pictograms and no written explanation. The mounting bracket was pretty easy to install, but again, with it and they way the solar panel is attached these really only work on a south wall. I modified the bracket to get them far enough from the wall that I could use them on the east side of the house.

Works very well, lights up almost all of my yard. The motion sensor works it picks up my dog every time. It does not need direct sunlight I have these on my fence and they get indirect light and stay charged.
