Useless even for the smallest bathroom
Living in San Francisco Bay Area, it can get quite humid, especially in winter. There is a constant risk of mildew without proper ventilation. Since it was also very cold in January/ February, keeping the master bedroom window open for an extended period of time to help the bathroom fan was no feasible. I did not have high hope for a tiny device like this, but due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I decided to give it a try.First of all, the user manual included was seriously lacking. It did not show how the collection tank can be emptied. Since the dehumidifier was supposed to shut off automatically when reaching a comfortable 45% humidity, I did not worry since the humidity in my bathroom was only 60%. After running non-stop for 5 hours with the bathroom door closed, the humidity was still 60% and there was only a tiny amount of water in the tank. Obviously, this was not working and I decided to return it. Surprise! I could not open the tank to pour out the water - any which way I tried. Since the user manual did not address this crucial piece of information, and after trying many different ways to open the dehumidifier without breaking it in the process, I gave up and tried to remove the water through the opening through which the water had dropped in. This was tedious for a small amount of water the device had collected. The water kept "avoiding" the port. I was close to throwing this useless device against the wall but decided I really rather have my money back. Here came the second surprise: I had to take it to a Kohl's store to return it. Just shipping it back was not an option. Whaaaaat? There are no Kohl's stores in all of San Francisco. The closest was 15 miles away! What a hassle. Had I know this, I would not have ordered the device. Instead, I had to spend my Saturday morning driving to the store. Lucky me, I do have a car, something that is not a given for people living in a city with reasonable public transportation, ride shares and scooters.Bottom line: Don't believe the glowing reviews. This is a totally useless product with added aggravation for daring to return it. Hey, Amazon, are you listening? Please CLEARLY indicate unusual product returns. I order online for convenience, not waste my time, and to drive a total of 30 miles to return it.

Works okay
We put this in our small bathroom 5x10? Which is the size of room it is made for. We left the door open and after 24 hours including 3 showers it had collected 4 oz. of water. I don't know if that is a lot but we were impressed. Also we noticed that the walls dont have as much moisture on them after a shower, they used to look like they were sweating. Even the mirror is clear afterward. It's very quiet, cant even hear it running. Setup was a breeze, just plug it in and push the button. The unit shuts of and flashes a reed light if it is on and the tank is removed, from other product reviews this isnt common for this size/price.Update 4/7/2019Took off a star.... The light has gone out sometime in the past few months, it still works tho. We had a stress test week while my cousin was in town, 3 showers back to back with the door closed (humidity meter read 90 or so) the little tank STILL hasn't filled up and the was maybe two weeks ago. So I'm less impressed than I was before.

It works great for a while but then it doesn't.
It worked great for a year or two but now, the blue light is off and it just makes noise like it's on but no water in the tray. The price was pretty cheap so it's not a big deal.

Good value for the money and works great for a small master bedroom.
If you live in Houston, you know how notoriously humid it is outside. I have severe allergies and breathing issues, and even excessive cleaning does not completely eradicate my issues. After my allergist recommended getting a dehumidifier, I decided to scour Amazon for one that was good enough for our small bedroom. I previously purchased a highly-rated and overpriced dehumidifier on Amazon that was supposedly good enough to cover 150 square feet, but I had a terrible experience with it. The unit was way too loud for its size, generated an excessive amount of heat, and barely pulled any air. In stark comparison, I found that this particular dehumidifier was vastly superior despite costing only $2 more. The noise level is noticeably lower than the smaller unit I purchased and the tank was over twice the size. If anything, you can barely hear this thing running if you place it on the floor, and it has actually managed to keep my room humidity below 60% even when it has been above 90% humidity outside for the last few days. My hygrometer recorded a low of 44% and an average of 54%. Without exaggerating too much, I feel like I can breathe better and I'm sneezing less. If you have allergies like I do, I highly recommend this unit in conjunction with an air purifier. Your body will thank you for it.

LOOKS PROMISING! :) CAN WORK WITH SMART HOME
The media could not be loaded. Although the switch looks like an electrical switch, it is actually mechanical. That means that you can use it in your smart home with a smart plug!!! Super easy to use - literally 1 on and off switch. Noise is like a very gentle white noise that you can hear maybe within a ten foot radius in a completely dead silent room. Otherwise, with conversation, TV, music, or anything else, it is practically silent. Think of air conditioning noise. Haven't gotten a chance to use it in the Philippines yet (where it's extremely humid) but will update!**UPDATE: This thing works but probably is best only for a small bathroom or walk-in closet. I don't think this would work well in tropical, humid countries. Seems fairly weak so I don't think it will take in a lot of water unless you use it post-shower, etc. Company seems a little sketchy too. The product came with a piece of paper that said you would receive a free air purifier if you rated the product. I followed the instructions but never got the purifier, nor an email reply.
