DK Smithsonian Rock and Fossil Hunter (Smithsonian Guides) Paperback – 21 Mar. 2005

Since I'm APO/FPO, I usually have to wait 3 months to get used books from Amazon Market Place. However, not with Bay City Books (CA 94510): I got the order within the week!!! That's a first. My kids are going to be able to receive it for the holidays, which was unexpected. About the book: why is it out of print? It's perfect for K-6 to start their fossil hunting hobby. We have a whole bunch of these books, but this one is the best for kids: it's visual, well organised, has lots of caption and to-the-point text. As always with DK, the pictures are clear and colourful. The book, by the way was "new", not used. Which is even better.Once again: Bay City Books, you have outstanding service!

My son is ten years old, and he likes to collect rocks. This book has some great experiments in it, and he has read it over and over again. He actually borrowed it from his teacher at school to read for his nightly reading and loved it. He liked it so much that I went to Amazon to buy it. We have done one of the experiments in the book, and we will be doing more.

Excellent book for young explorers.

They were selling this book at the Scout Store and my son LOVES anything scouting related. He adores this series of books-we recommend them all.

I bought this for my 8-yr old grandson, and he loved it! Lots of neat projects inside.
