Much Better Than Fitbit Charge, for a Fraction of the Price
I have owned two Fitbit Charge watches in the past, and both broke within a year, so I decided to try something different. This Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 8 is only a fraction of the price of a Fitbit Charge 5, but it is SO MUCH BETTER. The screen is brighter, and everything is free, as it should be. It does literally everything a Fitbit Charge 5 does and much more, without any ridiculous monthly charges just to track a bit more of your sleep. It offers more functionality, more customization, more details visible on the screen, feels lighter, and looks better. Did I mention the battery life yet? The way I use it, the battery lasts for 2 weeks or more! If you're on the fence between getting a Fitbit Charge band or this Xiaomi Smart band, get this!

Love the new features
The Xiaomi Mi band is a great alternative to the FitBit. I have been using them since model 3. I particularly like the model 8 features with the easy to snap on replacement band features. That was always a problem having to pop out the watch part to put into a new band. Now you just press a button and the band comes of and a new one can be put on. The connection to my phone is good and reliable and the supporting software is very easy to use. I wear my Mi Fit watch every day.

Early days yet
It's early days yet, but, so far so good. Unboxing - there could have been better instructions, the four basic diagrams weren't much use. You must put the watch on the charger to turn it on. You must also have the app on your phone to link the watch and the phone. However once you know what to do it was fairly simple. Arm swings (steps) - so far I haven't had to windmill my arm to get the watch to count and the display of the count is fairly quick. I'm waiting to see what happens over time on this. Generally this is what dies on my watches. Notifications - once linked to the phone the phone call and texting notifications came through reliably. Remember there is no answer phone or text on the watch directly. Calendar notifications are a bit less reliable, but, that may be the MS Outlook app. I really wish there were a sound for the notification. The vibration is not strong and I do, occasionally, miss the notifications as I don't feel the vibrations. But they do show up on the watch. Battery - the battery life is almost as good as they say it is. I'm waiting to see if that lasts. Batteries seem to have short lives on things I wear, but, we'll see. After listening to the reviews I decided not to even try the standard watch band and got third party watch bands from the get go. The band was easy to take off and easy to install. The watch itself is just the right size for a narrow wrist. I really like that. Depending on the watch the screen is easy to read. After a little studying of the app I found where to change the watch faces and that is easy too. There are enough of them to give you a little variety. A quick tour of sliding the screens back and forth gives you a view of what is available on the watch. Figuring out adjustments on the app took a bit of time, but wasn't hard to do. Overall this is a nice little watch with a good price. For now I'm happy with it.

Poor connection, poor durability.
This was supposed to be a good buy but the item after jus a couple month had screen damage of some sort, started with green dots and then just stop turning on the screen. During the time it was working it had really bad pairing because it kept disconnecting randomly from my iPhone and even connected some widgets like music didn't refresh. As it is right now it could still get charge and it pairs but I cannot use it due to the screen. Charging speed was good, and also battery life. My original band just got broken in the same period LESS than a year. I ended up buying more bands and by the time I got it the watch was broken already.

A good band to your hand
Compared a lot of bands before going for the Xiaomi band 8, would be more than enough for all the basic band needs from day to day life, would be a good pick if you are relatively active this band has it all , The OLED screen definitely contributes to the overall features of the band, Overall Highly recommended. Note: please to checkout the applications before making a purchase which are available for the band, for this version they can be a little weird "#Chinese Stuff" , Mi fitness app works just fine, but may differ for different operating systems, SUCH as Android and iOS

Awesome Fitness Band
I've always been familiar with Xiaomi products, so when I was looking for an affordable fitness tracker/watch, I knew I had to get this fitness band. It’s been a great experience so far. The battery life has been amazing; I usually go 5 days without charging, and by then it’s at 20%. The tracking seems accurate enough when I compare it to my phone’s tracking.

Died within the first year of use
Was happy with it until it stopped holding charge and dying within hours. It’s not even a year old at this point. Can’t comment much on the functionality as a used it to tell time at night for ny newborn’s feeds and wakings and to track steps

Very nice quality
This watch was really easy to set up and paired quickly with an android phone. I got it as a gift and the other party loved it and actually bought the same one for a family member! The watch holds a charge and doesn’t need charging every night, which is helpful for sleep tracking!

It’s very beautifully designed and has high quality looks, too. BUT: the heart rate is quite off (about 10-20 bpm higher) compared to costlier, more trusted fitness trackers (Apple watch or Fitbit Charge 5). It basically is just a OLED-display digital watch, sadly. That’s how I’m currently using it.

Bought Xiaomi Mi Band 8 which advertised for Android phones. Received Mi 8 last week and had been unsucceessful pairing it with Mi Fitness app. The pairing attempts made have tried changing app to China region, restart Mi 8, reset to factory setting and all advises seen on youtube do not work. Totally frustrated and very cumbersome refund process.

I owned the Mi Band 6 until the last band broke and decided to upgrade to the Band 8. The big factor that has always swung me towards the Mi Band is the battery life. The Mi Band 6 only needed to be charged every 8 days initially but it did get down to 4-5 days, still significantly better than the more expensive watches and it does do all the key things like fitness metrics, heart rate doing various activities plus alerts, SPO2 measurements, steps etc. The Mi Band 8 takes it further. Battery life supposedly up to 16 days. I haven't had it long enough to verify that yet. The sleep measurements are more thorough and now tell me where I stand in my age group. It also measures my breathing during sleep, something important to me at my age now as well as the usual Deep Sleep, REM and light sleep. And there are many other features too which I haven't tried out yet like answering my phone from my watch. The screen is very easy to read, lots of different watch faces. And the price is amazing. I am happy.
