Reliable Ethernet Adapter – Perfect Work Accessory
Works exactly as needed and is a great accessory for work. Provides a stable, fast wired connection, is easy to use, and feels sturdy. No issues with the setup—excellent choice for laptops without a built-in Ethernet port.

Exact part at way less cost
A genuine Lenovo accessory at about 1/3 the price. Works exactly like it should.

"It werks!"
It works perfectly. The only thing is, the adjacent usb-c port on my Thinkpad T490s became inaccessible when this ethernet adapter (as designed) was plugged in. So, I cut off almost the entire left side of the rubber+plastic housing. Now I can use both the ethernet adapter and the extra usb-c port. I highly recommend doing this. Use a rigid razor sharp blade to cut off 1/2 to 2/3 of the housing, then gritty sandpaper, then fine sandpaper. Lenovo, at least just design an adapter that fits. You don't even need to redesign the laptop. Otherwise, rational customers will chop off the left side of the housing of your product and be correct and justified in doing so. (end rant)

Its ok
I ordered this to connect my external drive to my router that does not have a USB port but I forgot to order a female to female adapter. I just wasted $ and i am going to have to install the drives in a computer case and set it up as a (really) poormans NAS.

If you need it you need it
New Lenovo doesn't have an Ethernet port? You still need to hook up to an Ethernet port for some tasks? You need this, it's made by Lenovo it does what it is supposed to.

Correct model. It plugs in. But, you lose the adjacent port!
Superb delivery experience, and the correct adapter was sent (per Lenovo's website and my Thinkpad's documentation), but I'm still disappointed. Yes, it inserts into the intended port, but as someone who remembers how well ThinkPads were engineered, designed, and manufactured before Lenovo bought the brand nearly 20 years ago it angers me. Only my beloved TrackPoint keeps me as a ThinkPad customer (because I hate removing my fingers from the keyboard to navigate during typing). Either provide proper separation between ports on the side of your laptops, or design an adapter with a male end offset well to the edge such that the adapter allows use of any neighboring port(s). This adapter is so poorly designed that I first blamed the seller for sending me the wrong item when it isn't their fault at all. While not as bad as their error of putting proprietary USB header pin sets on the motherboards of their ThinkCentre workstations then NOT making adapters or even pre-wired female ends available for purchase (so no buyer could ever expand their future USB needs or add any device that needs a USB header connection such as PCIe Bluetooth, etc ), this Ethernet adapter adds to a long list of Lenovo failures. I shouldn't have to do surgery on an OEM product to make it work as intended.
