Dear Customer, Please follow the steps to make your fingerprint reader work perfectly: 1, Delete all your fingerprint. 2, Turn on "Touch sensitivity", Setting--Display--Increase touch sensitivity. 3, Re-enter your fingerprint twice (after screen protector applied). 4, Use hand moisturizer to keep your hand humid to improve your fingerprint sensor sensitivity. No it is the tempered glass. With that said it is extremely, as you put it flimsy. I purchased mine and upon arrival both screen protectors had spider webbed. I contacted Amazon, and was given some sort of line and that I only had a short time frame to return them. In frustration I choose to take the
