These are the old style street lights from my childhood (I'm 78) and I still play with trains. The connecting wires are 28 or 30 gauge, I think. I used 24 gauge to connect them to the distribution board. The lights are 3 volts and seem to work well with the <Evemodel PCB012 Power Distribution Board Self-Adapt Distributor HO N O LED Street Light Hub DC AC Voltage Train Power Control> which can handle single or double 28 lamps. As in my review of the double lamp post, the internal connections to the lights can handle some strain, but you must be careful to not put too much tension on the internal wires as they are not repairable from my experience. But overall are really nice looking and put out a decent amount of light with the distribution board mentioned above gives you the ability to adjust the overall brightness on the lights wired to it.

Lights have to be drilled through a surface. Cannot mount them directly on a surface. Very bright lights for such a small size!

Update: Just wanted to say that the customer service from Evemodel is excellent. If you have any issues, just contact them and be assured that you will be satisfied with the outcome.Sounds like a commercial, right? But I just have to say that while building my model AFX slot car layout, I purchased different electronic pieces from different places and only the Evemodel stuff worked the best, and definitely had the best quality, making the pricing a real value. Got questions about the product? Gotta say that the support at Evemodel came through with courteous service. I've purchased this set, another modern street light set (LQS08), separate LEDs, separate "grain-of-wheat" bulbs, and five of the distribution pieces (PCB007). Loved the way it turned out.

Poor quality, of the 10 lights none of them worked, I thought it was me but then I bought it to my friend Chris who is a electronic expert and he said boy these are Dead on arrival

Purchase two sets and tested them before installing (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TESTING) 5 did not work. For the price you can't go wrong. They look nice.
