OK, so understand what you are getting. It is a carafe, that is BPA free. It is lined with plastic, and is very lighthweight. It will keep liquids warm for 2-3 hours if lid is kept on and closed. The INSERT says as much. No where does it say that it keeps liquid hot all day. Many reviews complaining about the length of time. Best bet is to go with a vacuum sealed thermos style. Or restaurant style. Anything else will vary greatly. The company would do well to include the same information in the info packet as that would clear some confusion and concerns. I had read through the reviews, and then I went and looked at a dozen other carafes, and nearly all of them had some that said that the liquid isnt kept hot enough long enough. SO, I came back to this one and decided to get it because it was a fraction of the cost. If figured that if it kept my pot of coffee hot enough to drink for 1-2 hours, then I would be pleased. Who wants coffee sitting around for 10 hours anyway.I TOOK TEMPERATURE of kettle boiled water that showed 200 degrees. Then I closed the lid, and came back 3 hours later. Temp decreased to 170 degrees. That is after 3 hours on a cool day, and not having pre warmed it. Not too shabby. FOR ME, it works out well enough.As with ANY vessel, if you want to maintain temp longer be sure to heat the vessel first. You do this by adding hot water. This could be a mug, a stainless steel tumbler, or a carafe of any material. Basically, it is simply reducing the effect of adding hot to a cold surface. Can also work in reverse. Want cold liquid? Then place vessel in fridge, or pack with ice then take out (if you dont want ice).I give this 4 stars because it meets my expectations. I dont give it 5 because it this product page needs to be cleaned up (in some spots it says this has stainless steel. No, it is all plastic with some insulation in between layers). Second, it should say what it says in the insert: that it will keep liquid hot for 2-3 hours.

If you have a chance to buy this café and you like to have hot liquids during the day and don’t want to keep making it, try this coffee and tea café and it will keep your tea and coffee, had all day.

It works wonderfully and the lid fits very nicely. I am ordering a second one for a spare.

It won't keep coffee hot for long, even after me putting hot water it for 20 minutes before putting in the coffee.

I bought this carafe along with another in the eternal quest to keep coffee hot and fresh for at least a few hours during the day. The more expensive carafe (I already reviewed) didn’t work. I bought this with an expensive on because sometimes cheaper items work better than expensive. Definitely not the case here. Two hours tops on this carafe and it’s maybe, kinda, sorta warmish.Absolutely not worth it.
