Personal Use During Hotel Stays
picked up this detector for checking my hotel rooms during business trips and its straightforward to use. two button operation makes it easy to figure out - no complicated settings to mess with. the led lights show signal strength and the vibrate feature is handy when you need to be quiet. been using it for about a month now in different places and its simple enough that i can do a quick scan in just a few minutes. battery life is decent - still using the first set after checking six different rooms. few things to note though - sometimes picks up regular electronics like wifi routers which can be confusing at first, and the magnetic detector needs to be pretty close to work well. size is good for travel - fits in my laptop bag without taking up much space. like that you can turn the beeping sound off and just use vibrate mode. takes some practice to learn what normal signals look like versus unusual ones. wish the instruction manual was clearer about what different light patterns mean. comes in handy when staying in new places or using shared spaces. makes checking unfamiliar rooms quick and simple. nice having something compact that does multiple detection types without needing separate devices.

So far so good
This is our replacement for the exact same one we received last week. The packaging is impeccable but we noticed the second one we received seemed much more a sturdy, the components actually more sound(no rattling parts). It is a great device, not for super secret spy stuff, but it is good to make sure you are not being tracked in your vehicle and no other be has bugged your home if multiple people have keys. I think it is easy to use and pretty accurate as far as I can tell. When I had a problem with the first one I was able to get a replacement within 24hrs. It’s not that serious but if it was, great replacement service!

Cannot Tell if it Works - Might be the End of me . . .
First off, I'm going to say that the local POLICE told me to buy myself a scanner since they themselves DO NOT own such equipment. I had an unnerving instance where a random stranger entered my house one night and turned on the light in front of our bedroom, accessed an account on our TV then left. (He/she wanted us to know they had entered), but our $10,000 worth of gemstones by the door were not touched. Just the week prior they had flown a drone over my house and sat there staring at me for 15 minutes when I walked out and heard it. I live in the country, so it's VERY uncommon for that sort of thing (either thing) to happen. I knew they must have some sort of spy equipment in my house because the night they entered the dogs had all been locked in their dog room (sometimes they are left out in the living room). I'm going to warn you . . . this is going to put you into the looney bin trying to use this thing. It was going off EVERYWHERE you'd expect it to. The living room. The picture on the wall. The deer head. The ceiling fan. it did NOT go off in my son's room, his bathroom, or our second living room we rarely use and is next to our main living area. It DID go off on our bed frame. SADLY, I could find NOTHING. Which ONLY made things WORSE. Furthermore, it was not consistent. Here's the problem . . . after researching online, I found that newer, sophisticated bug devices can detect detectors and shut off signals. So you might catch it, but it could disappear. Others are limited transmission, only sending out signals at certain intervals. AND others are limited on battery power, so might only transmit for a week and then dead. Some can tap into your wifi, and others are on a 4G plan. Some are battery powered and some direct into your main power system. As others mentioned, the magnetic detector only works within 1 inch of said object, which is fine for stuffing down holes you cannot reach into, but not much else. I'd also suggest downlaoding an EMF detector on your phone (for free). That works about as effectively and detects different magnetic radio frequencies. Hopefully I don't end up as a news story . . . but if I do, blame this detector and local law enforcement. (I don't have any enemies, but I am a YouTuber, fwiw)

This found the culprit !
With my background with Motorola Government Systems, and in my own business of installing licensed and unlicensed microwave systems for my clients, I have been well versed in the wireless world, owning some of the finest test gear worth well into 6 figures. Since I sold that business a few decades ago, along with my test gear, I have building up a small arsenal of wireless tracking resources, based around the many smartphone based apps available. I realized that at a particular time of day, the TVs, my laptops and tablets / chromebooks were loosing their data links. As I scanned a wifi app, I saw a very strong, unmarked signal surge during those time. My frequency counter gave me more info about it, but did not help me track it down. When I found this wireless sniffer on Amazon with good reviews, I decided to add it to my arsenal of testing tools. With the JMHDKK in hand, I was able to do a quick sweep of the area in question, and in the directional information this sniffer gave me, I discovered that a neighbor was using obviously a very powerful VoIP phone system in the 2.4 ghz range, ( probably operating over FCC allowed signal levels ) that was messing up my data links. My solution was to shift much of my data use for my devices with a D-Link wifi hub up to the 5+ ghz range, away from the offending signal. This neat device ( I love the German technology it is built with, and also to that quality ) solved a long standing problem and helped me to find a solution. Now, I can use this to also further secure my home and solve another wifi mystery in the marina I sail from. A small investment for some great capabilities ... (y)

Useless
This detector produced false positives all the time, making it pretty much unreliable and not useful

Inconsistent
Did not consistently work. It would intermittently work. Only detecting a device directly in front of it half the time. The IR portion was hit or miss as well. Good form factor and size, but not reliable in my opinion
