String Builder, Bk 2: A String Class Method (for Class or Individual Instruction) - Violin (Belwin Course for Strings, Bk 2)

The entire String Builder series is well written and should be on everybody's music stand if they are working to become better string music readers and players. I'm a lifelong player of instruments in treble clef and bass clef so learning to play viola and reading its music is an interesting challenge. I've played violin for the past 5 years and now am working on viola in addition and the String Builder series is helping enormously. I have worked through book 1 and thus the need to purchase book 2. It is well-thought out, clearly printed, and the advancements from page to page are gradual and logical.

I use this series for my classical students. It's easy and fun for the students.

These books are so sensible in there approach to introducing new material, and full of duets to play with your pupil. Also, they are fit for string orchestra classes, with piano parts and full scores available. When these can't be had anymore, I may have to stop teaching!

I am a beginner violinist and I love the fact that this book teaches step by step, skill by skill. I am progressing quickly. I started the book 1 in August and I am almost finished, so I got books 2 and 3!

Excellent for building up technique.

Great book for beginners. Takes you from a good starting point and gets you to more intricate bowings, fingerings and tempos. I really have enjoyed it

Got this for my son. He likes this book. He said for self instruction it is not a good choice but for classroom or with an instructor it works well. He uses this with his instructor at college.

I played this one all the way through, and went back again. Lots of short tunes to play. I will keep it out and go through it again.

I love this course. It is easy to follow and everything is explained clearly. Very good book!

I had been playing the violin for about a year when I started to use this book. I've found that it moves along at a brisk pace. One piece of advice, either meet with a teacher now and again or watch a lot of videos so you catch the little technical things (moving the bow properly when up and down bowing, proper finger placements, etc). Lots of great YouTube videos help with this if you're on a budget!
