The device and software is now working, but I'm not sure what changed
The only user interface for this meter is via Bluetooth, and you need an Apple or Android device. When I first got this, the Android app was unable to connect to the meter. The Apple app was able to connect, but I only have an iPad, which isn't convenient. But, after connecting to the iPad, and installing a phone software update, the Android app now connects, which was my problem earlier. I have changed my review accordingly. If you have problems with Android, try connecting with an Apple device, and it might start working. I have no idea what fixed it, but it's working now, and I may have found where my pool is leaking, which was the original reason I bought the meter.

Rain Damages This
Horrible instructions that warn against rain damage, so not useful for long-term garden sensing. Returning it without trying.

Disappointed
Initially, I thought this would be a great product because I assumed that it would hold data and you could graph over a period of time the various data points. This is not true.

App needs refinement
Alright. This guy has so much promise. But the app....needs help. It has only one button on it. So all you can really do is turn it on. There is a flashing red light, and that's it. So the instructions are super important (or the videos on the amazon page). We installed the app, which is pretty bare bones, not super intuitive, and feels a little bit like spyware on two phones (a pixel and a galaxy). Neither of us could get it to connect. We could sometimes see it on the list of Bluetooth devices but it would disappear and not connect. Dug around the internet and saw that it seems to work better for iPhones. That doesn't help much. Our only guess was that it came with dead batteries. So the last thing to try was new batteries. A few days later I hadn't gotten around to batteries yet but I casually popped open the app and turned on the device and it connected instantly (well, 5 seconds). No idea what had changed. Tried the other phone and found the location services were disabled (turns out that hint is in the videos but not the instructions that came with it). So, it does work with android! be patient! It should work better....my best guess is it has some secret update or something that has to install before it works...very strange. As for accuracy...we'll get to that over the next while as we test it in many places. The things I could verify easily (light, temperature, water content) appeared accurate. But the thing is useless without the app. It has a thicker probe than others I've seen, but isn't necessarily more robust. Just thicker. Must be for all the features on it.

Working now but was it worth the headache, not sure
I got this to use in my greenhouse to keep an eye on my plants needs. I use an android phone primarily, and at first I couldn't get the app working at all. I was able to use my iPhone, but i don't like to load that up with apps and I don't always have it with me, so I didn't love that. It's now working on my android, but considering the earnings about not leaving it in the rain, I don't know how it will handle the moisture levels in my small greenhouse (the gourds I am currently staying in there like it most). I guess we'll see how long it lasts.

Works great!
I was able to connect to the meter just fine right out of the box using both Android and Apple devices (separately). Once calibrated my daughter was off to find out what it would tell her about her plants. Simple. It's been a couple of months, now, and my daughter's garden is flourishing even better than before. She's been able to tailor watering schedules and amounts, adjust pH, and reformulate her various pots and beds with more suitable soil blends. She absolutely loves it, and I love the results!

Too confusing for me
I have one small raised bed that I wanted to really focus on this year. I thought if I ordered something like this, I could really dial down into the soil for a good crop. My biggest issue is that it seems to only work half the time. I’ve used it in the same spot and have gotten vastly different readings…or no readings at all. The app is easy enough to install and use, but the iffy readings made it kinda useless. I also can’t recommend this for your average beginner gardener. There is also a bunch of packets of maybe cleaner? Or some other purpose…but no directions on how or why you would use them. This thing is already sitting on a shelf.
