This is truly the definitive book for anyone serious about training in Krav Maga.The books breaks the system into levels illustrating each technique and walks the reader through each step.I am a professional Krav Maga Instructor (Krav Maga Bristol) and am fortunate that the Krav Maga syllabus is so well laid out for Instructors and students alike. Our students use it to prepare for lessons and gradings. Others use it to attend our bootcamps - in short if you are interested in Krav Maga this book is the place to start.If you are going to buy any Krav Maga books I would suggest this is the place to start - there is about 4 years worth of material in it.Finally, although the book is great - bear in mind it does not replace classes or instruction - its a guide thats all.Paul Grey

Have recently joined a local Krav Maga club for some cross-training and this book is ideal for reviewing the techniques taught in class. A no-nonsense self-defence system which is very well supported by this book.

Hello,I like that I paid for a second hand one andgot a copy of near new condition.The book is about self defence.The moves can be used to keep fit.I now have edition 1 & 2, and I am happy with the the pair.If buy this book I hope you have a good reading experience... Sincerely Richard.

Read the book for wot its meant to be for &join a club to practise the moves& master the basic skills you wont have to become a grand master to feel confident that youCan look after your self & loved ones no matter yr size or age it comes from with in &gainingConfidence then its a case of morons leave me alone or beware no to be used to start troubleBut to finnish it quick &for you to go home safe&sound just do it bsafe

Very informative book with clear pictures and instructions

Darren Levine has broken ties with the Israeli Krav Maga federations (and even tried to sue for sole use of the name Krav Maga in the US!) so some of the techniques in this book are out of date. Krav Maga is in daily use by law enforcement and military agencies around the world and they feed back to Israel about what works and what doesnt and in turn Krav Maga Global (main international provider of KM training) update their instructors every 6 months or so. Still, this book is useful and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in self defence training who doesnt have a Krav Maga school near them.

this book is excellent for the person wanting to start from ground up, but that's not to say that some of the techniques are amazing and realistic and applicable to total self-defense.

Pretty useless without lessons, mind. Sign up for a class, and use this to remember and practice the technical details of techniques you're taught. It is split into 'colour' grades, some places teach 'levels', switch things around a bit, but it's pretty much all there somewhere.Krav isn't about book learning, so if you're not in a class, the book won't help you and may just get you into trouble. There's a world of difference between getting a move right and wrong, and you have to be able to place a punch or kick instinctively if attacker is committed. In between the attack and you running away again there are probably just 10 extremely violent, explosive seconds to neutralise the threat - you can't get that from a book alone.

Intentionally bought this old edition, as I prefer this over new edition. Pictures are clearer for this book. Easy to read and see techniques. Will definitely recommend this book.

Mi sono appassionato da qualche mese al krav maga e, nonostante gli appunti presi durante le lezioni, volevo un testo "scientifico" su cui studiare e/o ripassare. Ho scelto il testo basandomi sulle recensioni di altri acquirenti di Amazon e non posso che confermare che la lettura è scorrevole (anche se in inglese) e le tecniche sono descritte in modo dettaglio grazie anche alle diverse foto inserite nel volume. Nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto perché credo proprio si tratti di un testo essenziale per lo studio del krav maga.

This book is better than "the Secret" if you're familiar with that great read.This book arrived in a gold lace case with scroll words on it that I didn't understand at first but once I cracked the cover... I knew my destiny.If you should choose to read a few moves be sure that you're not inside or near civilization.I cant speak for everyone but I started walking through the streets taking on everyone around me. It was then I became a full fledged ninja and destroyed whole city blocks. This book was amazing and helped me through the whole process in a comfortable and meaningful manor. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to take on the world. Great product. Fun to practice.
