This thing is awesome!
When it comes to chopping cotton wood (hey I live in Wyoming, can't be picky) this axe is the bomb. It is very sturdy, has good weight and is willing to take a beating from a sledge hammer. Split that stubborn cotton wood with no problem. And by the way cotton wood burns just fine and for a long time.

Great Little Axe!
I received his axe last week and have only used it once so far. It did a great job as I cleared brush, roots and stumps in an area where I am planting some bushes. The axe has good weight and balance and the quality is very good - just what I would expect for a hand tool that I expect to use for many years.

Perfect small camp axe/hatchet.
Got this to chop kindling for campfires, it works absolutely as it should. I did not notice any bends or nicks in the blade, but I also made sure only to hit the wood, not rocks or other objects. The flat side is perfect for hammering tent pegs into the ground, as well. The protective "sleeve" for the edge of the blade is easy to lose, however and I suggest you find a sheath or some sort of carrier that will cover the blade while you carry it around. I don't carry it around, I just keep it by the firewood to make kindling.I had to sharpen it when I got it, the edge was only good enough to split kindling, not so much for chopping off branches.I took off one star because they make the blade protector sound like it is more than it actually was. Would have been happy with the description of like, "small blade wrap, only covers the very edge itself." Or if they would have made it a little bigger so that i could maybe put a slip ring in it, to attach out to something while I used it.

a universal tool
I like the axe handle because it affords a very good grip and conforms to the shape suited for a hold whether useing a high or low position. Also it has very good balance and axe head weight for chopping both large and small wood. When hunting in back country the law requires it among other things , for fire and camping purposes. Last but not least it can be had for a good price.Terry Saunders.

It’s a Cracker !
Okay, firstly let me say I have never swung any kind of axe before, so the first two swings were kind of..., wussy , then I found my stance adjusted my grip let gravity do its work !,, and I was splitting seasoned oak stumps 24” wide with two swings !, no real reverberations along the shaft , no slipping or twisting,, I’m 63, and I’m not super fit , but this was fun, can’t wait to get to the rest of the woodpile ,so , I know nothing about quality Axes, but this seems to me to be a good tool,it’s not too heavy, the handle seems sturdy and well balanced, all in all for the price I paid I’m very happy, buy it and try it .

Super Axe/Easy to see
This is my second Tabor Axe. They are great and for those who complain they are not sharpened to their liking: You all need to sharpen the Axe as use will require so!! I use a my belt sander. My better half loves these and this one is Her 4x. I prefer the Eastwing Axes for the snow mobiles and My use but these are great - only a user preference and camping I am glad to have the Tabor in Our tack.

This is not a splitting maul - gets stuck in wood too easily
I wanted a new splitting maul so I bought this one. The quality looks good, no issues there. I started using it and kept getting it stuck in the wood. The problem is that it is very difficult to remove the maul from thewood. I think this is more of an axe rather than a maul. My other maul (yellow) has more of a sledgehammer shape and is more effective at splitting the wood. It very rarely gets stuck. When it does get stuck, it is easy to remove.
