Ogrmar Plastic Dustproof IP65 Junction Box DIY Case Enclosure (3.9"x 2.8"x 1.6")

Nice sturdy box . Used it on the surface grinder in the shop. Mounted right to frame, small enough to not get in the way.

Used this plastic box to create an electrical box for my boat. It was easy to modify and fit the application perfect. I was able to cut the plastic to install switches and put all wire connections inside this box

The build quality seems good and I liked the design allowance for the 6 screw holes that are completely isolated from the box built so there won't be any water leak into the box from the screw holes. It does not come with any openings on the box which was my preference as I had odd sizes to drill. I had to drill three openings with a hole drill bit and the cuts were nice with no shattering or cracks as a result which I have seen some people complain on some other boxes. It also comes with a water tight rubber sealant to secure the lid to the box. I am satisfied with the box and its quality as a whole, the price seems a bit too much for a simple box.

I don’t quite understand the number of 5 star reviews on this box. It is pretty expensive for what it is, the lid gasket is questionable, the lid screws are annoying and cheap and the screw lugs in the base of the box are laid out in a way that virtually guarantees they’ll be useless (2 of the lugs have brass colored inserts by the way). I need another box and rather than buy this one again I’ll fire up the 3d printer and print one or buy another brand. Despite my criticism the box isn’t bad (I gave it 4 stars though I considered 3) it’s just not that good considering the price.

Edit 04.27.2020: Thickness is ~1/8". I mis-calculated it when I originally wrote this review. Now corrected (below). I purchased the 7.8" x 4.7" x 3" box with flanges. I have to say this is a decent project box. It is plastic, and is significantly thicker than the typical project boxes you'll find at stores such as Radio Shack and Fry's. The box feels sturdy, and my impression is indeed it is. I would say the plastic is approximately 1/8" thick. I know because I've cut several holes in this box. One thing worth mentioning in more detail is the lid. First, the weatherstripping must be manually applied, as others have mentioned in their reviews. Second, the lid is taller than I expected. I believe the height varies depending on which size box you order. This box is about 1 inch or so. Perhaps slightly higher (I have it screwed together atm and not near me or I'd measure it). The lid is also the same material thickness. When you put it together, you could probably hit it fairly hard with a hammer and I would expect the box to survive the blow. Now, that's within reason of course, but the point is it is about as sturdy as one could expect for a $15 plastic box.

Perfect size to hold a 12V 9AH sealed lead acid battery when mounted against a wall, plastic was easy to drill out for cabling.

Shipping was very fast. Price was very reasonable. Well made. Will use this project box to make a portable power supply. No complaints.

I installed lots of solar panels on the rooftop of our RV, and I used this box as a weatherproof junction for the wires before they went down through the roof to the batteries underneath. This is made of very durable material and is definitely weatherproof. I used solar 'glands', which are also weatherproof, to run the wires through the sides after boring holes of appropriate diameter into it first. Highly recommend this!
