Q: Will this keep the semi-feral cats out of my engine? That's what I'm looking for.

I don't think this will do the trick because of the frequency. I have this model & several indoor plug in devices & they don't affect my cats at all.

They squirrels and chipmunks near the car will hear the alarm sounding under the hood. But they will not see the flashing lights. I doubt that this device will bother rodents not in the car. Two of these devices, along with two plastic cups containing shavings of Irish Spring soap, placed under the hood overnight and removed in the morning have driven the rodents out of our car, and they do not come back as long as the devices are there.
