A great resource for anyone starting their English journey or preparing for important exams like TOEFL.

This is one of the best series of self study I believe is available. The audio addition allows even a beginner to hear the directions and language. For staff strapped small schools, it is a relief to have such guided direction. Well made, colorful but not too busy, designed by the one of the best; DK.

I have been using this book during my English lessons for my beginning students who are adults. I really like how the book is organized and has a lot of drills that we can use. The only thing I don't care for is the use of "He is called" instead of "His name is," etc. This is a UK/US difference, so I have had to point it out to my students so that they don't get confused. Also, I really like that the grammar explanations are simple and concise, because I usually have to explain English grammar in my students' native language anyway. This makes it easier for me to explain it to them. The less I have to explain to the in their native language (Russian), the better :-D
