I took my time getting around to the review of this as using it correctly requires a bit of setup.I finally got to try it out today on a room which needed some refreshing by connecting it, and a big ventilation fan for afterwards, up to remote sockets.Whilst the UV light itself is great for killing bacteria, it also rips apart the air forming ozone which helps to get rid of nasty odours but can be quite nasty in itself. This thing throws off plenty of both.After only a short run the presence of ozone was noticeable and I was grateful to have the ventilation in place beforehand so that the room could be cleared without me having to go in there and breath the stuff!I notice that the product listing is a little confusing in that it states "Ozone Free" (which I guess the product itself technically is), it gets the job done though! I'll be keeping this on hand for future jobs.

This is clear glass so you are unlikely to mistake it for a standard fitting.The glass element housings are 7" long.You screw it into any E27 sized lamp socket (the standard size screw thread)You need about 30 miniutes of use for sterilizing a room of 25m square (16.4ft square) and they suggest 2 bulbs for a 50m square.Switch it on and leave for 30 mins in the unoccupied room.Turn off and open a window and wait an hour.We will be using ours with a timer so that the lamp can be switched on with no one in the room and then just pop back in to open a window once its gone out.Will also use in the wardrobe to freshen clothing that cant get washed often (motorbike leathers etc)I tried it temporarily in a curtained wardrobe just to make sure it actually works and there is the distinct smell of ozone once it has been on just a few minutes so its definitely a proper uv lamp.Fakes have no smell.The description says ozone free but the instructions definitely say open windows to allow the ozone to dissipate .Easy way to clean the air in a sick room after its been used.Might be good for guest rooms, short term rentals, airing holiday accomodation.We have used small versions of this for sanitizing various objects when there was a pandemic.The leaflet says you should get about 3 thousand hours of use from itObviously no way to tell how long it will actually function for but seems good initially.Came in a card box inside a card envelope(too big for a letterbox). Not damaged at all.
