Amazingly easy setup, some quirks, but overall great.
I really like this camera setup and the screen is very big. The solar setup works very well and no wiring required for the rear camera for power or signal. It is truly wireless, even with a long distance between the camera and the screen. In my 32 ft motorhome, the signal was producing a clear color picture even when the rear camera did not have the antenna attached! I decided to mount the camera on the roof because there really wasn’t a way to mount it on the back above or below the old camera, which was my original plan. The solar panel would need to go directly above it, but that would make the camera not removable. In the end I was glad it was on the roof because the extra height gave me a much broader view of the rear and I could still see the rear bumper too. Also, the little solar panel being on the roof hides it from view, and gives it the most sun. The battery seems excellent and even leaving the camera on at night doesn’t seem to drain it at all. The night vision produces an absolutely amazing picture. Whether the backup lights are on or not, you can see. I don’t know how they do that. The screen backlight is bright and distracting so I like to keep it off while driving at night unless I’m backing up (same as my old camera). The image is good but don’t expect it to be as good as your iPad. In daylight, the picture is best when there is less contrast. First thing in the morning, for example, the brightest sunlight can produce white areas in the picture. The customer service is amazing also. When I asked questions I had an email back very quickly. The only thing I didn’t like about this whole setup was the large footprint of the screen on the dashboard. The mount is designed to stick to a big flat horizontal surface (6 1/2” x 3 3/8”), and there just wasn’t one in my coach. It would be nice if the had the option to mount it on a vertical surface. I made a flat surface for it: I cut a piece of wood the same size as the footprint of the mount, found the perfect spot to secure the wood with drywall screws, and then stuck the camera mount on the wood. That worked out great and it looks good. It uses very strong double-sided tape so you only get one chance. It will stay where you first put it so get it right the first time. For the money, this is a great buy.

Good back up camera value
I recently installed the AUTO VOX Solar Wireless Backup Camera on my travel trailer and I'm very happy with it. It was super easy to install myself in less than 5 minutes. The camera is solar powered and the battery lasts a long time. The picture on the 7" screen is very clear during both day and night. The wireless signal is strong and has no delay. The camera is also waterproof and works well in bad weather. The only minor drawbacks are that the solar panel needs to be positioned well to charge the camera properly and it costs a bit more than some wired backup cameras. Overall, this wireless camera system works great and is an ideal choice for RVs and trailers. The video quality is excellent, it's reliable.

Easy set up and great image quality
I added the Auto Vox solar wireless backup camera to my camper van. My stock rearview mirror is useless as I can’t see out the back windows. The camera mounted easily and sends a clear picture to the monitor with a great field of vision. I can now see vehicles behind and around the van as I drive. The little solar panel does an excellent job of keeping the internal battery of the camera charged. I definitely recommend this product especially if you don’t want to splice into any of your running lights to power the camera. This has been working great for me. You can set the monitor to cycle off after 2 or 4 minutes to conserve battery power, or leave it on full time. I recently completed a 6 hour drive with the monitor on all the time and the battery still showed full. 5 stars.

It's simple and works great
Our rear view camera on our rv died. This unit was a super simple solution for what we needed. It literally did install in minutes. The company offers to extend their warranty so I emailed the company to request it. Kaya got back to me super quick and I responded,Hi Kaya, Yes I did get your message thank you, and I did get the unit installed, it's looking great and is just what I needed!Happy with my purchase

mostly good
Six months ago, I installed an AUTO-VOX V5PRO Rear View Mirror Camera in my mother’s car. My review was detailed and included both PROS and CONS. Auto-Vox recently contacted me to write a review on their new Solar4. They have supplied the unit, but this will not sway my review. Since there are YouTube videos on how to install the solar4, I will focus more on the pros and cons of this unit.Quality:I consider Auto-Vox to be a company that produces good products. The Solar4 did not disappoint. You can tell the construction quality of the unit by just handling it. And the price is very reasonable for what you are getting.Easy installation:The ease of installing a Solar4 is the selling point. There are no wires to run to the back of the vehicle. In fact, there are no wires to run at all. The camera is powered from its own battery and the monitor is powered by a cord that plugs into the cigarette lighter. They claim it can be installed in 10 minutes. Depending on how you choose to mount the camera, it could be less than that. You will spend more time deciding where you want to install the camera and monitor than actually installing them.Added visibility:This is not designed to replace your rear-view mirror but to give you additional backward visibility. My vehicle is an FJ Cruiser. The FJ is an off-road vehicle and has very poor visibility out the back window. It becomes dangerous after you put fishing poles, etc. in the back. The Solar4 has greatly added to the safety and ease of driving. As with all rear cameras, you see a large area, but objects can be closer than they appear.Versatility:The camera can be mounted on the back of a car and then moved to the back of a trailer when it is being towed. It is ideal for an RV that has poor or no rear visibility. It comes with two mounting brackets. One for mounting on a horizonal surface (the roof) and one for a vertical surface. The brackets screw into the vehicle and the camera snaps on and off the bracket. The bracket to camera connection is very secure. And there is a screw that makes sure it cannot get knocked off or easily stolen. There is also an option to get a magnet that snaps onto the back of the camera in lieu of the bracket. The magnet is powerful, and you can easily move the camera to the back of something you are towing. You can also move the camera to point at the hitch so hooking up a trailer becomes easy. The magnet gives the most versatility but there is a concern that it could easily be stolen if left on the vehicle. So, putting the camera inside the locked vehicle when parked in an unsafe area would be wise. You can choose to only use the magnet when pulling a trailer.Note that the camera rotates up 38 degrees up and down 60 degrees. But it does not rotate left to right. But with the magnet, it can be relocated to get a great view of the trailer while hooking it up.Charging the Battery:Problem:Since there are no wires, the camera has a battery that must be charged. If you just turn it on when you are backing up, the battery life should last a long time. But if, like me, you need it for added visibility, it will be on most of the time. [there is an option to have it automatically turn off in 2 or 4 minutes, or just stay on]. The manual states that the battery life should last for 15 hours during the day and one half as long during the night. If it is used just for backing up, it is estimated to last 3 months. It comes with a USB cord for charging and can be charged from your computer or in the car with a USB adapter plug. Note that it takes hours to full charge it.Solutions:A solar panel comes with this setup, which will continually charge the battery from the sun. I just drove over 1,000 miles with mine over a 10 day period and the battery is now shown to be half charged. While not advertised, there is also an option to hard wire it into your taillight. This would have it charging when the lights are on. To do this you need to buy a DC to USB converter. These parts can be hidden in the body of the car. This is the converter I will buy if I find I need it.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BCP6WPBD/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A35IIP1M375GD9&th=1Biggest Problem:Because the camera has a large battery, it sticks out from the car. Unlike small cameras that mount above the license plate, etc, this has no protection from the rain. When it rains, it becomes useless.Summary:Auto-Vox Solar4 offers features that will be advantageous in many situations. If you know the limitations as I have explained, you can hopefully make a wise decision. If it fits your needs, you cannot go wrong. It is well made and priced reasonably.
