Fantastic thing to build
My grandson has autism and he thought it was fantastic to build and great when it started working

Good enough
9 year old really enjoyed this. It’s a bit flimsy in places but otherwise ok. A magnetic screwdriver really helps with done of the screws. The screwdriver included looks like it came from a Christmas cracker. There’s no alignment marks on the timing gears, which would have been a nice touch to properly coordinate pistons and valves, but you can still see the principle of 4-stroke operation

Works perfectly
Very clever design, instructive, educational and all parts fit together perfectly. Excellent working model. Bought 2 as it is so good

Looks good
Looks good in the box but bought as a Christmas gift and not yet assembled so can’t comment on quality.

Didn’t work!
Bought for sons birthday. Spent most of the day assembling it (instructions are quite poor but we got there). Switching it on and seeing it working was much anticipated after so much effort… only to find that it didn’t work! We put in brand new batteries, checked all the connections, but the light did not come on and nor did the engine itself! My son was absolutely devastated

A fab project to work on with your children
A great project to do with your kids, it’s an interactive and educational learning experience all while having fun. Good value for money when you consider the life skills they are developing.

Looks good when finished
This was a project for a wet Sunday afternoon. The instructions were mostly pictures, which meant I spent some time squinting and figuring out which screw went where. It's all plastic parts, nothing greasy or heavy. The process of putting it together was satisfying, clicking the pieces into place, seeing the pistons and belts connect. It took about two hours, moving at a steady pace. The final moment of putting the batteries in was the best part. It whirs to life, the parts move, and the little lights fire in sequence. It's not powerful, just a visual representation. It’s a good visual aid to show how the combustion cycle works. Taking it apart again would be a pain, it’s now a display piece on the shelf. It's a construction kit first, an educational model second.
