I've tried a few of these lamps, and had come to the conclusion that it was all a placebo. They didn't help, they just made my head hurt. Well, this one ALSO made my head hurt (ha ha), but I think that's a common side-effect of starting light therapy, and it went away over time. I have not been nearly as depressed this year after starting it, and that's with being forced off an anti-depressant cold-turkey because the VA can't get a veteran's meds to them on time (are we surprised? No. No we're not).The ability to clamp it to a table is great, because I don't have room near my desk for a standing lamp, so I clamped it on the hole in my desk for cords, and it doesn't block the gap for other cords at all. I love the gooseneck feature, the neck is solid enough that it stays in position. The different color options for the light are great, too. My only gripe is that the controls on the base faced the other side once it's screwed all the way down on the clamp, as that makes them, you know, invisible.But there's a remote. So problem solved.

This lamp was very easy to assemble, and if it does what is advertised, no more seasonal affective disorder for me!!

I love this lamp. It's sturdy, the base is nice and heavy, it was easy to assemble, and it's got multiple options, so you can make it a standing lamp or connect it to a desk or some other surface with a clip. I wanted to use it as a floor lamp, but because of the multiple settings, that's where the flaw comes in. Because you can make this into a shorter clip-on lamp, the slot to plug it in is halfway up the lamp instead of at the base, so you can see the cord hanging behind it instead of hidden away at the floor. It's not a dealbreaker, but this is the reason I took one star off. If you want to use this as a clip-on lamp, it won't be an issue for you at all.I do LOVE the remote that came with it. It has ideal light and brightness settings based on different tasks, like reading, drinking a cup of coffee or tea, feeding the baby, using a laptop, or nighttime. You just select these buttons and it adjusts to the pre-set lighting for the situation. You can also adjust the color and brightness to your liking, from dim to bright, and from a more yellow hue to bright white.As for the light therapy benefits, I cannot really say if that works, but that's not the reason I purchased it in the first place. I use this lamp for crafting, reading, and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. I like to simulate the early morning sun before sunrise, and it does help me feel more awake.Overall, if you need a versatile lamp and don't mind the cord hanging from the back of the stand, this lamp is a great choice.

The lamp is well constructed and the functions work well. However, I am looking for a lamp with a stronger/brighter happy lamp feature.

I like how I can control the light with the buttons easily on the light polar and there’s a remote as well. The light is gentle and not dazzling.

Nice design and many setup options. Change the light for the application. Great light.
