These are very nice buckles to add to your backpack or to upgrade the plastic buckle ones. Note that these straps will require some sewing to finish off the strap endings. The strap endings are left unfinished to allow for a wide variety of options on how you would want to use them. However, this makes it very difficult when you want to use the straps right away and don't have access to sewing tools. I wish that these strap ends are partially finished so that you can begin to use the straps right away without sewing.One shortcoming that deducts one star from my overall rating is the fact that the strap that they use seems slippery and doesn't always lock with the hardware. There are several time s when I notice that the length of the straps are loosened on their own. This is frustrating when I'm carrying a heavy bag on a hike and having to adjust the strap every so often.If you're planning on getting this set, consider replacing the straps for a better quality ones.

This is great for adding a hip belt to a backpack that might not have one. This adds additional support to shift the weight from your shoulders to your hips.

If you absolutely need a pair of sternum and waist straps for a bag and you can't afford a proper set, these will work. This pair costs less than a proper sternum strap by itself, but you get what you pay for. The materials are extremely cheap. The nylon strap material is thinnest nylon strap they make anywhere for anything. It is bottom of the barrel. The clasps are cheap plastic, but they function well enough.

One of my favorite backpacks unfortunately did not come with a waist strap for some reason and its sternum strap fell off one day and I lost it. This product offers an easy solution that I have been wanting for a long time, being able to add a waist strap without having to mess around with sewing.Installation of these straps is pretty easy. Clip the anchors where you want your strap to sit and feeding the nylon through the clip and buckle to lock it down. I had issues with my bag since I had to clip the anchors to the nylon parts of my bag as well and the anchors couldn't really anchor or anything. To fix this, I had to fold my nylon in half. Not my preference, but you gotta do what you gotta do.I took a star off since the nylon for these straps and the fidlock buckles feel really cheap. I have a lot of products made of nylon, and these straps may have the crappiest nylon I have seen. Additionally, the buckles are made of plastic, not metal. These straps will probably hold up to my use, but I am definitely not impressed.Overall, these straps definitely get the job done, but they are pretty pricey for the quality of the materials used. I am glad that I have them though.

As others have noted, the materials are relatively cheap, but the straps themselves don't cost much, so it's not awful. My biggest complaint is that the straps can slip fairly easily, making it harder to maintain a taughtness that is needed for such straps.There's no instructions, but they're pretty straightforward to use, though with the different widths of the straps, the teeth match only one type of the strap when you install them.I'm also not entirely sure of the benefit of the teeth. I was hoping this would help avoid the straps from squeezing the backpack straps, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

I managed to break the buckles on my hydration pack, and I came across these to replace them with. These are really cool because of the magnetic buckles. These pretty much attach on their own. Then, just pull on the cord, and pull them apart! These hold very securily and have different mounting options included! They're really cool and work great!

These universal magnetic backpack chest and waist straps are easily added to any backpack. The clips that hold them onto the straps of your backpack are made of plastic and they won’t clip to anything too thick, but once they do clip they hold on well. Most of the hardware is made of plastic and while I wish it was metal we’ll see how well it holds up over time. The magnetic clasp is made of metal and it’s easy to use, even with motorcycle gloves on it’s easy to actuate. The waist strap clasp came a bit tarnished or worn but I’m not too concerned about that since it will probably get marked up after using it for a while.

These are not the same quality as the official Fidlock buckles, but they seem to hold well enough. They are made from plastic, unlike the fidlocks. Still, for a sternum strap, theses should be fine.
