Great logger
Very useful and simple to use, software provides all I need to download and store logs, very efficient with battery as long as you program it right and not crazy logging.

Easy to use and good quality
I bought this specifically for work, to make sure our testing labs are within spec for temp and humidity (I work in R&D). It is very easy to program, very easy to get data off of. The only criticism was that it took a little bit of messing with the data to straighten out the timestamp format to be how I wanted it, but that's not a big deal. This was a great price for a little longer like this. There's no better way to go to your boss and say "we need to replace the HVAC system" than to have a beautiful capability analysis and I-MR to back up claims of it being "weird and not good" in the room.

Works great, PC required
I wanted to keep track of the temp & humidity in my garage prior to installing a exhaust fan. The unit is well built and comes with several useful accessories. From the front panel you can see current/max/min temp & humidity. You need to connect it to a PC via USB to set the unit's date, time, and logging options. The software installed fine on my Win 7 64-bit PC. I downloaded the latest version from the Extech website. The software works surprisingly well. I was able to quickly set up a logging schedule, set the time on the unit, and switch to Fahrenheit. Many logging options are available, from 1 sample per second (max 4 hours, 32 minutes) to one sample every 24 hours, and everything in between. I used one sample per minute which will last 11 days 8 hours. You can have the unit stop logging after it collected the max # of sample, or overwrite the oldest data. It records temp & humidity simultaneously. After a week of of logging, I connected the unit to my PC and was able to download the data quickly and display it in graph or spreadsheet form. If you export the data to a file, it is a tab separated file, and can be opened in a spreadsheet. Each timestamped (m/d/y h:m:s) temp & RH reading will be in the file. The graphic display can't be saved by the program, but you can screen capture it. Data can also be stored in a propriety format for reading into the software later. On the not-so-great side, You can't do much from the front panel, like change from Celsius (factory default) to Fahrenheit or setup logging, or view previous logs. User manual is sparse (-1 star) and a little helpful. If you're not handy with a PC, this unit may not be for you. The front panel display is a bit confusing, there's some data there I don't understand. No backlight. The battery is one of those expensive non-rechargeable camera batteries, a standard 9V or AA, AA would have been nicer. There are two tiny (easy to lose) screws holding the battery cover in place, but the screws go into a metal sockets, not plastic - thank you Extech for that. The battery cover also looks to be environmentally sealed.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend the RHT20.

Data Loser not Data Logger
I had a new refrigerator that would fluctuate in temperature radically. I've used USB data loggers at work before for various reasons and thought buying one and installing it in the fridge would provide a data record that I could show to the warranty repair company to help diagnose the on-going problem. I purchased the EXTECH RHT10 expecting the same reliable results as the EasyLog USB data logger I use at work. When I tried loading the provided software, It would not load. Finally after the 3rd time of trying, it finally loaded. I put the data logger in the USB port and my PC indicated that it was not connected. Then logger then seemed to connect and disconnect every 5 seconds. After a reboot and another try, I was finally able to connect and set up the logger. After setting it up, I disconnected it, started it (watched the LED blink every time it took a reading) and set it in the fridge. After a week, I plugged it into my PC only to get a message that the logger had zero data! It then started it's connect/disconnect sequence again. It's bad enough that this product didn't work, It's worse that it lost vital data.Bottom line. Buy a better product and test it several times before recording vital data.

Easy to use and collect data
Great tool for collecting temp and humidity data inside a room.

Good for specific application
This unit is good for remote monitoring as it has a built in battery that allows is to function without a PC. It does not function well as a PC connected unit as it does not use or charge from the USB port. Reading temperature requires downloading data, which stops measuring. The graphs, save to .xls or .txt are attractive features. The application is a minimal load for the PC as opposed to the EL-USB-RT which can put a disruptively large CPU load. There must be better options for monitoring temperature through a USB port for same room temperatures.
