So Great!
Such down to earth advise. Simple daily steps that one can apply to get back to a life you remember or a life you want to obtain. Marc and Angel are not fancy, just wholesome people who want happiness in others lives.

Practical tips that work, backed by research
Their backstory provides a foundation that we all can relate to. Hardships and human nature - the desire NOT to do, or do too much. Marc and Angel provide useful tips to keep yourself going. They help you analyze your life in a healthy way about where you are currently, and where you want to go from here. Having realistic goals that you really want is a simple yet effective game changer. I struggle with depression which comes with a lack of action toward anything. I won't clean, I'll sleep in, etc. Their tips on daily rituals are already yielding results for me and I feel better. The biggest change in my mindset as a result of this book so far is that I have to understand that doing a chore, even just for a few minutes, is still going to be hard. I just have to push myself!Edit 1: Had to come back and really praise the daily ritual chapter. For a solid week and half now I've upheld my ritual of cleaning my apartment every day for 15 minutes. It was incredibly hard at first, and before this book I'm not sure I would've had the resilience to adhere to my goal. My apartment is clean and I feel much less stressed. Being able to come home and feel comfort instead of chaos is wonderful.

This is like a starter self-help book of platitudes
I think this book is super for someone who has never considered their life, had therapy, or read a self-help book. For those of us that have, or those facing serious trauma, loss, or grief, this book will not be helpful and could be harmful. It is not informed by research about how people handle serious loss, trauma, depression, or grief. There are no citations in the entire book. Clearly they are popular, so I am guessing this is helpful for some people. However, this is just your run of the mill all-purpose self-help book. By "turning trials into triumphs" they mean, for instance, your boyfriend of three months breaks up with you or you get a bad evaluation at your first job. This is not suitable for people who are facing life-changing challenges and life-altering difficulty. I am facing an incredibly horrible situation in my life and I don't need to be told that "what is meant to be will be." Really? Like what about when your child dies? Or your husband leaves you? Or you are paralyzed? The authors encourage you to "choose responsibility over blame" which can be great if something is actually your responsibility. However, when it isn't, such advice can be highly problematic... for instance, to abuse survivors. I get that these folks are just bloggers who can package positive thinking and advice in an attractive way and it may very well be helpful to lots of people who have no access to other self-help literature, writing that comes from qualified therapists or psychologists, or a therapist. There is some good stuff in here for those just starting out on the journey of adulthood and growth. But, it does little to take into account what we know about how brains work, how trauma works, or how people recover from life-changing situations or depression. If you are facing a serious loss or trauma, you might instead consider The Body Keeps Score by Bessel van der Kolk or of you are facing serious and painful grief, consider It's OK That You're Not OK: Meeting Grief and Loss in a Culture That Doesn't Understand by Megan Devine. If you are facing serious trouble in your marriage, consider the John Gottman's work. If you are man facing depression, consider Terrence Real's work. If you are woman facing a difficult and co-dependent relationship, consider Women Who Love Too Much. There are just so many good books out there for people facing major challenges in life. This is not helpful for the major ones, but might be a good "intro to thinking about life" for some people.

Angel & Marc Chernoff are Truly Uplifting & Postive Role Models!!!
I first found Angel & Marc thru another site. Whenever I chose an article to read further it was always -marcandangel.com. Always filled with positive ways of approaching difficult life experiences.I would read all of their emails. They always, always help. Which led me to see they had a book -1,000 + Little Things Happy & Successful People Do Differently. It spoke to me. I gave this book to many of my friends. All of the seemingly simple & practical advice is actually very profound. The way the book is composed is helpful to always reread . To refresh & reset ones' mindset. Now ,I am thrilled that they have another Wonderful Book - Getting Back to Happy - It is a phrase I have said my whole life. That it is Angel & Marc's new title makes sense. They are so positive . They have so much Wisdom to share. That it originated out of such sadness gives all of us the power to know we can also not just persevere but really rethink how to live a Happy Life despite whatever has/is happening. To see them in person is also such rejuvinating & positive experience! I cannot wait for their next book! I am such a fan. They are Lovely!

Awesome for anyone who wants to be HAPPY!
I pre-ordered this book and then Life happened and I hadn’t found the time to sit down and read it. I finally had an opportunity while on anlong flight this weekend to dig into this book and then finish it today. This is such a simple, relatable book written by people who truly want others to share in their happiness by helping them to find their own! Whether it’s starting a new business, losing weight, or rekindling a relationship, Marc & Angel give you the guidance and advice to figure out how to take the first steps. Goals aren’t reached over night, so starting with healthy daily rituals is the very basis for us becoming successful in whatever endeavor we are hoping to achieve. I thought of myself so many times while reading this book as well as so many people in my life who could use a book like this to help them get out of their own way and reach true happiness. I am grateful to have this book to help reinforce the good choices I am making for myself on a daily basis and to remind me of what’s really important in my life! I definitely recommend!

This book is a Godsend, having packed around baggage ...
This book is a Godsend, having packed around baggage for years, convincing myself to not bother trying to change to go after something I've always wanted to do/try. I'm currently in the process of allowing myself to write poetry and sing publicly. Wouldn't have dared a few months ago.
