When buying with drives and box together, my expectation was it would be ready to go out of the box, it was not. From what I experienced, the drives were basically just plugged in, but nothing set up nor configured nor ready to go. There’s a little direction and information in the box When I connected it to my machine the system was not recognized, the status light started flashing indicating an issue. With little material in the box in terms of steps to follow to get going, but then had to go download a guide. The guide mentioned the status light but you had a differentiate between 1.5 seconds flashing and 2.0 seconds flashing to determine the issue. That’s terrible, you shouldn’t have to sit there with a stopwatch to figure out the flash rate to diagnose. To get it working, I basically had a reset the system and now the drives and system are rebuilding. In 12 or so hours on know if this actually works, and if my system will see it. Again, not what I expected buying the drives and the box Together, and describing that would be configured and ready in grade one.

This is only a "Direct Attached Storage" device via a USB--a USB drive, essentially. It has no ethernet capability and is NOT a NAS.
