CharGon BBQ Stainless Steel Ultimate Grill and BBQ Cleaning Tool for Round Rod Grills

I love the long handle and it sturdy! It cleans the grill without the dangerous bristles that can come off over time. Price was reasonable as well.

I bought this to clean the grill of my Traeger after reading about issues with wire grill brushes leaving strands behind in the food, and causing people health problems. None of it sounded like a fun time. I've never had a problem with my grill brush, but I didn't think I wanted to test my luck any longer, and so I bought this cleaning tool. It has excellent construction, and the metal extends the length of the handle. It's long enough that your hands aren't over the grate very long, so you won't get burnt knuckles. The metal is thick gauge and very strong. I've only used it a couple of times, but it scraped my grill just fine, although it takes a bit longer as you have to do each individually, and can't cover a number of them like with a brush. However, that's also a plus, as you can angle it over and scrape the underside of the grill a bit to get rid of the danglers. Ha! Ultimately, I don't worry too much about my grill being ultra-clean, because those are the flavor bits - don't let anyone tell ya differently. But I don't want it to be majorly nasty either - it's a fine line, but this tool definitely works to make sure you can walk it properly.

It's remarkably sturdy, simple, and easy to use.I got it for use with a Weber Master Touch Grill, and obviously for those Weber grill tops. There are times when the tool is just the tiniest bit too wide to slip in between the bars easily, however, usually around the edges of the grill. Also if you've got the grill top with the removable center -- it's useless for cleaning that inner rim where that center rests. But overall it does a pretty good job.It's good at knocking off the chunks, including the severely burnt on ones, and for scraping off the thin super hard stuff (put your elbow into it). Don't expect this to be the only tool you'll need though -- you'll still want a grill brush (Weber's works great), and there's no avoiding the eventual hassle of taking the grill top out and cleaning it the hard way with soap and water -- no matter how hot you get it in there hoping to ash everything off (trust me, lol).It is a useful addition to your toolset though, and the length and form factor of the scraper make it comfortable to use. The simplicity of the design (full tang steel with a wooden handle) means this is a rugged and solid tool that will last for many years, which makes the $20 price tag well worth it.If you're looking to get a grill scraper, and this one fits what you've got, I do recommend it. It may not be perfect, but it's pretty good.

Ideal for scraping the individual bars on the grill regardless of the diameter. Only down side is, in my opinion, the handle could be a little longer.

This grill scraper is excellent. When I first saw that the U-shape is slightly wider than my Lion grill bars, I thought, "Oh No!" But I find it is the best part of the design: If you angle it slightly, it crimps very, very tight around the bar so that it cleans much more surface area and scrapes down to the bare steel. Really good. As it says in the blurb above, you can also rotate it so you can get all sides, 360 degrees around. Bravo.

Initially I had to request a return/replacement of the first CharGon tool I received as the wood handle had been damaged I think when fulfilled by Amazon. I think it needs to be wrapped better before it’s placed in a shipping bag. The replacement I received was fine. It’s apparent that it’s very well made & so far it’s been great for cleaning the stainless steel grates on a new Weber Genesis II gas grill that we recently purchased. I purchased the CharGon tool after reading the strong recommendations from users on an online grilling forum site. The quality of this tool is excellent & I think it’s going to last a long time; I will update my review should my opinion change.

Seams to be well made and works great for the side and under the grill bars

I just got a Weber Q2200 and after a month or two of using those standard bristle-brushes I found that they would get gunked up with grill fat and only scraped gunk off the top of the grill grates, not the sides. Not only that but brushing the grill would fling specks of grime onto my shirt unless I remembered to do it a particular way, I'd always forget and get my shirt dirty while I'm grilling. All those problems are gone now that I got the CharGon, it does a better job at cleaning the grill (and my shirt)! I'm convinced I'll never need a new grill-cleaner-tool again, the inventor of this product struck gold with this simple idea!
