I had this for a few months, and used it a few times, but now as I try to use it, it bends the lip of the can in, and does not cut the lid open, like it gets off track. I have to snap the can opener open, reset the opener, then go over the same spot. I am not sure why. I've tried to be gentle, tried being tough, but it does not cut well. I feel like an idiot trying to make it work. Not really sure what I am doing wrong. Return date has passed. I will have to buy new one. A different new one.

Purchased this can opener for my mom 3 months ago so she would have a manual can opener in case ofa power outage during storm season...3 months later while visiting I attempted to try it out.It almost opened a standard 5 oz tuna can...and completely failed at opening standard sized vegetable and soup cans. Had to use the old $1.29 can opener which finished the job.One of the reasons I bought this atrocity was because it said that it was easy to turn and good for arthritic hands. Well it does turn easy but won't open anything.You will have just as much success trying to open a can with a toothbrush, a baseball or a comb....and we all know that you can't open a can with a toothbrush, a baseball or a comb.Take a chance on a dollar store can opener before buying this...better to waste $1.00 then $15.00.Oh and by the way this is the only 1 star review that I've ever left in close to 20 years of purchasing on Amazon.

So smooth opening cans. The first time I had to look because it felt like it wasn't opening the can, it was just so smooth and effortless.

Have had less than a month and already will not work! Very disappointed. Only used maybe 10 times, already will not work anymore, like the gears are not making contact...... Waste of $$$.

got this for my sister she likes it better than an electric can opener

It is not possible for me to be more disappointed with this can opener. It has mangled every can I have tried to open. Replaced with an Oxo and I am much more satisfied.

This opener is absolute junk. I just wish I would have returned it earlier for a refund. Doesn't open cans easy, basically tears the lid off, as though the blade is dull, but it is the angle of the blade I believe. Basically I will throw this one out as it is pure frustration.

Ha, it's so fast to delivered! I just bought some bear and worried how to open them, and then I got the delivered message! Haha! Same as describe!
