One review says this is actually 2 year old. Can someone confirm if 12 year?

We just visited a balsamic vinegar factory (aceto balsamico tradizionale) in Modena just yesterday and 12 years in the minimum age allowed to carry this name and DOP marking. The bottle size and shape are the only one prescribed for this product. We also saw the "showroom" for this particular producer in Modena Centro. It looks legit. Other answers describe that the "2 years" is a typo or the full description was truncated - cut-off by the label printer format that Amazon dictates to the seller. I can see this as true because I used to package products for FBA ("fulfilled by Amazon") and partial or nonsensical human-readable text on the FBA label is the rule rather than the exception. It COULD be a pretty elaborate knock-off, but I doubt it. The price is a little better than other offerings on Amazon and indeed, here in Italy where we are vacationing right now. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product through Amazon if it weren't for my "brand loyalty" to the producer who treated up to a tasting and tour of their facility. If one does some research, they'll find this price is quite good, but not "cheap" enough to trigger any alarms. ~$80USD is what one can expect to pay for this product from other legitimate sources. We paid about $60€ for a bottle of this just yesterday. The only other thing that would keep me from buying THIS product is that the Amazon label is slapped on the product's box! The stuff is pretty special and the packaging is part of the presentation if you're giving it as a gift. So the Amazon label - especially with misleading information - detracts from the value. The seller would be wise to bag or shrink wrap this box, THEN apply the label. Again, based on my experience packaging FBA merchandise - this is completely withing the seller's power.

Please tell me the expiration date.

Is this organically grown and processed?

That is a thought provoking question. The grapes were grown in Italy more than 12 years ago. The processing involves transferring the must / wine / vinigar from cask to cask, each made of different woods. The casks are in constant use, only a small amount being transferred to the next cask and the volume made up from the previous cask. Finally, only a very small amount is used with your strawberries and ice cream or Parmesan cheese.

Does this contain sulfites?

Authentic balsamic has no ingredients other than grapes. And nothing is added during the years it is aged. But whether it contains sulfates like wine, I do not know.
