Very nice, well-made shaving bowl
This is a very well-made, multi-layer shaving bowl. I was using the single-layer design bowl before, and this one is much more useful, and convenient. It is the right weight and size -- does not tip over with a shaving brush in it, and the right size makes it perfect to hold, and tall enough, so the lather does not overflow. It has a brushed look and feel inside and outside -- not slippery to hold, and easier to make lather than in a polished-inside one. The triple-layer construction retains heat better, and keeps the mug cool outside, so it is not too hot to hold. I highly recommend it.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I wanted a bowl that would not take up much room on the bathroom sink and also would not break if it hits the floor. This bowl is perfect in every way. Excellent size for whipping up adequate lather while keeping a good grip on it. Retains warmth and is of course very easily cleaned. It doesn't matter to me whether the bowl was made in Germany or China, and, in fact, the description does not say that the bowl is made in Germany but that the design origin is Germany. Good quality stainless steel. Also, for whatever reason, and this may depend on how one holds the shaving brush, I don't have the problem of hitting the sides of the bowl when I whip up lather.

Good shaving bowl
Nice bowl for shaving. Easy to clean. Lightweight snd looks good. The only thing is that it does not matter the advertisement of vacuum seal layers it does not keep the shaving cream warm even if you putnit it super hot water first. Also it actually floats so yiu can not even keep it inside a hot water plastic bowl to stay warm. Other than that it serves the purpose of helping to form the lather and is big enough to do it.

Good Quality 304 SS Bowl
I haven't had it long, so I can't speak for rust and blemish resistance, although it should be fine considering it's 304 SS. It's still probably a good idea to give it a thorough wash with soap (and a good dry) after each use just to be sure.My biggest complaint with it is it's just a little too small in diameter (it's 4.1"). I think something around 5" would be better. Why? Because when I whip up a later, my brush smacks against the wall making a loud clanking sound and it's REALLY annoying. That's why I think this bowl is probably better as a puck bowl. Buy the lid with it and then put your favorite soap puck in it. Lathering from the puck would probably eliminate the clanking because the puck would raise the brush up out of the bowl a bit.I have looked on Amazon for shaving bowls that are SS and also larger than this and can't find any. However, I did find several SS bowls made for the kitchen which would be perfect. I may pick one of those up.

Warmth
Interesting thing to be rated on, well not really. This thing is crazy insulated. I get hot, boiling water to shave with and soak my brush in, well this bowl here keeps it hot, 5-10mins later I can come back and pick up the bowl with only feeling a bit of the warmth from the contents inside. I cannot do that to the plastic cup I use for my blade. However, this bowl is nice and well made. I lather up my brush with my puck and start stirring and work up a good lather to shave with. Once done and complete, I rinse my brush out while simultaneously cleaning the bowl. The bowl is not heavy by any means and is really light.

Works as advertised
Run hot water through the bowl for a half minute and it will give you really nice, warm lather. It easily wipes clean and looks shiny new after several years. Just big enough to do the job without hogging space around your sink. I just bought another for a second home. I don't travel with it as it's less hassle and more space efficient to get a travel size can of shave gel.

Nice bowl to have that won't break like ceramic
I had a real nice ceramic shaving mug for years but it did end up slipping out of my hand and broke into too many pieces to fix. Bought this one since it is metal and it looks nice and holds shaving soap perfectly. Not too expensive and fits the purpose.

Nice looking and well made.
This bowl is very well made with 304 stainless steel, and the welds - if there are welds - are so well done that they are not noticeable. It’s easy to hold and clean, but it doesn’t foam the shave cream for me as well as a ceramic bowl I have been using, nor does it keep the lather warm for as long as I would have hoped.

It's a steel bowl people
Polished, solid, its perfect. I don't understand the whole keeping the heat concept or complaint, but metal is a conductor folks. This thing will last forever.

This bowl is not made in Germany
This bowl may have been designed in Germany, but it is clearly Chinese made when you look under at the logograms. At best the box that it comes with is made in Germany.
