Pay the extra for the model with the metal band. It’s so much classier and makes this watch stand apart from a plastic or fabric strap that doesn’t do it justice.

I’ve gotten used to needing a GMT watch as much as I travel stateside and abroad. I prefer quartz accuracy to my automatics that I have to wear constantly to keep running. I also don’t want to wear my dress watches doing rough stuff and I appreciate great visibility in the dark. This watch fills 95% of my needs with the only shortcoming of not having a screw down crown. Besides I don’t get in the ocean more than 14 days a year and don’t scuba. The biggest plus is the very light Carbonox case-this I just relish to my 4 heavy metal autos and an 11 year old heavy Luminox with dimmer lamps.

I purchased this watch in 2018 to add to an extensive watch collection. Mostly Luminox, Citizen, Reactor, Taser ( You get the idea). Because of its price, it is seldom worn. I love the look and feel and it also has a very nice fitting band. Two complaints. The second hand like all my other lumiox isn't clocked accurately which for the price is beyond me but this particular watch seems the worst. My second complaint is the calander. The date in the calendar no longer centers itself until the 16th, then functions correctly. The other issue is I can no longer adjust the date by pulling the stem out to the first click. No matter which direction I rotate it. Only the second time zone hand moves. In order to adjust the date. I now have to pull the stem out to the second click and rotate it so the time will change. Having to do this for 30 calendar days is extremely time consuming and very frustrating. It now spends 99.9% of it's time in my watch case. Come on Luminox. None of my old Timex basher watches from the 1980s have ever failed me.

Let me say first that I love Luminox watches. My father turned me on to them a few months back. My first watch was a Navy Seal chronograph blacked out edition. This is the second one I have purchased. I have several Rolex watches that I never wear anymore because I'm too busy switching back and forth between my two Luminox watches. This F117 Nighthawk GMT is simply perfect. A real man's man watch. Easy to read in daylight or darkness. I love the look and feel of it as well. The only complaint I have is that if you have to remove a single link they won't match up perfectly due to the slanted design. For the links to match up perfectly you would have to remove two and that would make the band too small for my wrist. The only way to fix the problem would be to make the links flat in the middle rather than the angle they have now. However, if you did this it would change the look and feel of the watch. Of course this is only something an avid watch wearer or enthusiast like me would notice, especially if you adjusted it yourself. However just like everything else on this planet you don't get one without the other. Other than that this watch is simply flawless.

The watch looks great, wears comfortably and is definitely quite legible in the dark as advertised. I often wake up in the middle of night and immediately check the time (sleep issues) and I can always read the watch just fine. My only complaint would be to make the face just a little bigger. I like large watch faces. I do love it, no matter what.

I received this new watch from this seller quickly and in good condition. My original F-117 from the late 90's has faded to almost zero luminescence but the watch itself still works. So I ordered this one as a replacement. The watch size is quite larger than the original, so seeing the numbers in the dark is a little easier. The crown is bigger too, so it's easier to set the time and get the crown set back down afterwards as well. My intention was to immediately replace the band with a hook & loop model. But after seeing it in-person I'm going to wait and see how this one holds up. I've used hook & loop for 20 years - I'm having to get used to feeling the band's buckle on my skin. I've enjoyed the watch so far and I think it's nice looking. I can't rate the water resistance as I stay on land.

What to say about a watch like this? My first thought is just, WOW. If this is your style then this i a real treat. It comes in a big chunky plastic case that has a military look to it., great if you're buying it as a gift. Inside the watch is nestled in foam. As soon as you take it out, you can feel that it's a premium product - the materials used feel good and the weight of the think shows it means business!It's big, chunky and manly. You need a good strong wrist to wear this on to do it justice!Apparently, the US Air Force pilots flying the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth jets approached Luminox to make watches specifically for them and this is one of them! A good story behind the watch, making it a real talking point.
