I really wanted to like it
I'm returning the Combo 10. I'm returning it on day 29 because I really wanted to like it. In practice, it's been a miserable experience beginning with the setup and continuing up to the point of me writing this review.- While my first roomba easily connected to wifi, this one took me an hour to get connected and up to date- The initial mapping takes quite a bit of time - that's fine. The bigger issue is that when it made a mistake in the initial mapping, my only option was to tell it to start over, requiring another 2+ hours of the machine wandering around- All this would be fine if the machine cleaned well, but it just doesn't. The machine failed between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 runs (and frequently multiple times within a run). I consistently got erroneous cleanbase clogged error - it wasn't. What I was able to determine was that the vacuum bag gets when when doing both mopping and vacuuming. The wet bag means there's increased air resistance which the machine interprets as a clog- The lack of lidar meant that the robot required me to have all the lights on so it could correctly navigate. It also seemed to not really understand where there was mud tracked in- The robot itself required a lot of cleaning on its own. I have two cats and a dog that doesn't shed. My wife and daughter both have long hair which was consistently a challenge for the machine- The mopping never worked well and the base leaked, though in fairness, that may have been that I kept being told by the app to turn it over to try to clear the clog. Incidentally, the app kept giving me the wrong support article, corresponding to the J9 not the 10 combo- On a whim, I decided to start experimenting with running the vacuum and mopping concurrently - that seemed to avoid the erroneous clog error, but it take a lot of extra time, particularly with the charge time that's required. Much to my frustration, the robot started to complain that it wasn't on a level surface and required it to be moved. It's a perfectly level tile floor. It just doesn't work well- The mop pad never gets dry (or clean for that matter) - as a result it started to get musty over time- The final straw for me was the fact that despite multiple outreaches, I never got any response from customer service other than the automated Zendesk ticket email. That's not acceptable for any company, and certainly not for a $1399 deviceIn the end I did really want to like the device - my family was skeptical, given our previous experience (the old i-series ran over a cat accident and smeared it across our kitchen). The P.O.O.P. promise gave me some comfort, but given my experience over the last almost month, that seems naive.iRobot has clearly fallen behind the other manufactures - the Combo 10 feels like a rushed, half-baked product. It is clearly not in the same class as manufacturers like Dreame or Roborock (both of which have advanced lidar systems). Avoid and pick a different manufacturer.

I love this vacuum
I’ve owned this for 6 months. It had a docking issue so I contacted support and they walked me through it.It isn’t that loud but it’s a vacuum, so of course you will hear it! It takes a few cleanings to learn its map, but once it does it runs smoothly! And the mapping feature is constantly learning. Having clean floors everyday with two cats in the house is priceless!

This is not suitable for homes with pets that shed a lot.
I have found that this vacuum performs poorly, especially when it comes to maintenance with a dog that sheds a lot. Dog hair tends to get caught in the device, making it difficult to empty the bin. I often have to disassemble the vacuum at least once a week, or even more frequently, to clean out the components with a brush or pad since hair and dirt accumulate quickly.Additionally, the mop function can cause dirt to become wet, which sometimes leads to mold forming inside the device and complicates the bin-emptying process even further. There are also instances when the vacuum fails to locate its home base properly, resulting in it not charging as expected. The connection with the home base has failed a couple of times. The first time we contacted customer service, and they shipped out a new home base. However, they claimed that the problem was caused by excessive water used while cleaning the device. Honestly, I have never cleaned it with an excessive amount of water, just a damp rag. We encountered the same issue about six months later. This time, we decided to handle it ourselves. My husband disassembled the device and fixed the issue. The cost of filters, dust collecting bags, brushes, etc can be quite high, which adds to the overall inconvenience. In comparison, our earlier version of the Roomba, which does not include the mop function, has performed significantly better. This experience leads me to believe that there may be some quality control issues with this device, or perhaps the technology isn’t quite there yet. Therefore, I would recommend considering older versions of the Roomba over this newer model.

Pros and cons
Very loud and squeaky. But it seems to be very smart in learning obstacles. Interesting cleaning patterns but is getting the job done. I have two dogs and there seems to be a lot of chunks of fur that don’t get swept up but left in places which is easy to pickup but a little disappointing. My dogs run out of the house whenever it docks to empty in terror of the sound it makes. Love the all easy to use and love the functions and details it gives. I’m ordering reusable bags because the single use ones fill up way to quick in my opinion to buy new every time. I had the sweeper brush break within a week of use but it was only 1 or the 3 brushes that broke off. WiFi connection has been great. I have no hooked it into my Alex or google because I don’t see the point when the app is on my phone anyways.
