12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

I've long been a fan of Bowmore's 12 year old offering, but having tried the 'new' Legend and some other similarly aged whiskies from other distilleries I've found new love for this classic. It has honeyed fruit on the nose and initially on the palate, but that's soon kicked into submission by a complex warmth of leathery, smoky deliciousness that belies its age. The finish is as promised, long and lingering, which makes this an ideal sipping drink over those long winter nights. When it's on offer under £30 it's tremendous value, at under £25 it's a steal and makes a mockery of the 'new' Bowmore Legend which isn't really a patch on the old one. I've reviewed that as well and provided a side-by-side so you can see the colour difference too if that's of interest. Slàinte!

This whisky is very nice indeed and seldom found in England - if the seller reads this though, we always seem to have problems with delivery. Either we get a notice from Amazon saying it has been damaged so has been returned to seller (no cost implications for us I hasten to add !) or we get a failed delivery. Today, for example, delivery was apparently attempted at 1403. Well that is very odd as not only was I in but I was on top of a roof with full view of both entrances to the house - I was trimming back hedges and ivy. There was no attempted delivery - would stake my life on it ! What is going on I wonder - only seems to affect alcohol deliveries from Amazon - everything else we order comes through without any problem. I will be interested to see if it makes it tomorrow ! Good job I have CCTV installed so can check on it :)

Price and taste, trying bowmore for the second time in the new package, a very strong smell of sherry not to my taste still only 40% A bit behind the times in my opinion will not buy again,unless Price is on offer

I like to try different whiskies m in the hope i find that one which gives me everything i would like from a good single malt. I doubt i will ever find it, but I am having a lot of enjoyment trying! But I always keep a stock of those that i like and i have had Bowmore in amongst them for about 30 years now. That must say something about it, but just because it is my taste it does not mean you will all like it. But it is probably worth a try.

Den Bowmore gab es als kostenlose Mitgabe und war mir vorher kein Unbekannter. Mir schmeckt er sehr gut. Einer feiner Whisky mit einer sehr angenehmen rauchigkeit.

箱なしということでしたが、ちゃんとダンボールの箱に入れられて届きました。 アマゾンではシングルモルト ウィスキーを時々買っていますが、4,000円以下で12年物でお勧めできます。

Elegant steht die durchsichtige Flasche da, breiter Boden, nach oben gleich verjüngend, danach leicht breiter werdend mit einer abgerundeten Kante sich verjüngend bis zum Flaschenhals. Und doch ist die Flasche schmal und hoch, einem Tänzer gleich. Weis, Schwarz und in Bronze gehaltenes Etikett, schwarzer Korkenverschluss. Schlichtes Design. Abgefüllt nach dem Mindestanforderungen mit 40 %, doch die sind genau richtig. Im Glas: Schön fürs Auge, Farbe ist goldbraun, doch der Schein trügt, da der Whisky Farbstoff enthält. Braucht er die Farbe? Für einen 12 Jährigen doch recht dunkel, der Ausschließlich in Bourbonfässern gelagert wurde. Die Tröpfchen nach einem Schwenker im Glas halten sich kurz, bevor sie schnell in den Spirit runter fließen. Nase: Sherry Geruch trotz Bourbonfasslagerung wohl dosiert, danach leicht Citrus und ein Hauch von Rauch und Honig. Zu lang riechen sollte man nicht, da es einen leichten medizinischen Duft nach sich zieht. Geschmack: Eindeutig Zitrone, etwas vom Bourbonfass mit Vanille, danach ein Hauch Meeresbrise durch die am Strand gelegene Lagerhalle (die bekanntlich auch unter Wasser stehen kann). Nicht so scharfes brennen an der Zungenspitze, nicht ölig auf der Zungenrand, Torf/Rauch meldet sich kaum. Beim Schlucken hinterlässt er etwas bitteren Geschmack am hinteren Teil der Zunge, was absolut nicht störend ist. Abgang: Mittel bis kurz spürt man das Aroma von Bourbonfass mit leichter Vanille. Fazit: Ein Muss in jeder Whiskybar. Preisleistung ist unschlagbar für diesen Whisky. Auch wenn er von Islay stammt, beinhaltet er nicht die dort domminierenden rauchig/torfigen Aromen. Aufgrund der Milde und dem wenigen Rauchgehalt würde ich diesen Whisky wärmstens empfehlen, sogar für den, der in den Genuss dieser unbegrenzten Zahl an Aromen, Geschmäckern und Facetten einsteigen möchte.

● Descripción: Recibimos una botella de whisky escocés de malta, de Islay, con un delicioso aroma ahumado, en un paquete muy bien protegido. Es la botella moderna, a mí me gusta más la antigua pero vamos, que lo que me importa es lo de dentro, así que... ● Lo que me ha gustado: ✅ Que es un whisky escocés de Islay con un marcado aroma a turba, una auténtica delicia, nada que ver con otros escoceses de sabor blandurrio, este es intenso, nada que envidiar a mis favoritos, los whiskeys irlandeses. ✅ Es una maravilla en todos los aspectos: un olor ahumado increíble, un sabor equilibrado, profundo, un color ambarino que enamora y un regusto dulce que me encanta, como a miel, chocolate... y qué decir de su suavidad. Un producto redondo. ✅ Habitualmente tiene un precio inferior a otros maltas escoceses, siendo de una calidad muy superior a la mayoría de ellos. ● Lo que NO me ha gustado: ❌ Que se me acabará. Pero vamos, compro otra botella y en paz. ● Resumen: Uno de mis whiskys favoritos, junto a varios irlandeses. El escocés que más me gusta, sin duda, y al precio que lo compré (menos de 25 euros) un regalazo. Realmente no soy nada imparcial en esta reseña, es un whisky que me gusta muchísimo, y creo que por su relación calidad/precio no se puede pedir mucho más.
