Stops Nail Biting Deterrent 7.5ml, Pack of 1

I didnt buy this product to help with biting nails or thumb sucking, I thought I would give this a go to use on my 3 year olds dummy as I've tried everything else, safe to say it work's and he now refuses to put the dummy in his mouth

So, I first came across this many years ago when I was a child and my mum used this to stop me sucking my thumb. An opportunity was missed back then to stop me biting my nails. Fast forward around half a century (bloody hell, I am getting old), and I am still biting my nails and think that the time has come for me to stop. When I was looking for something to help, I saw this and thought that it worked when I was a child and maybe it will work now. It also gave me confidence in the fact this has been around for at least 50 years and that does not happen by accident. It tastes foul and since buying this, I have had only one nibble at a treated nail. Whether it is the taste that is stopping me, or the fact that each time I apply this, it reminds me that I am trying to stop my nail biting. Either way, since it has arrived, I will take the single nibble as a win. Normally I would be chowing down and have no nails at all. Although I do not have enough nail to need cutting yet, I have white bits at the ends of 6 fingers, I can feel the ends of the nails on two fingers and the worst nails are no longer sore. So, I am very happy with the results so far. Update- I have now got 8 nails that are nearly ready to be filed to some kind of shape. The only problem is that I like biting my nails, so the reason I do not have 10 nails nearly ready to file is that I have not painted my little finger nails.... but the habit I diminishing, so I have just painted one of my little finger nails. Once that one grows, I think I will consider the habit broken, and I will paint the remaining nail. The process has taken a month, and not been as hard as I thought. The other advantage is that I have a teething puppy..... he does not like the taste either and so has stopped trying to nibble my fingers during training..... A final update will come when I have 10 finger nails needing to be filed 😁👍 *Update* Still on 8 nails, I need to have a couple I can bite, but I have had to start trimming the remaining 8 nails for the first time in my life.

This stuff is the reason I have nails again lol you need to put a couple of coats on a day otherwise you'll end up biting through the nasty taste and continue tearing your nails away but if you double or triple the coats regularly every day it will deter you and within a few months you fingers won't look disgusting anymore. Makes your nails pretty shiny but that's a minor to healthy nails again. Great stuff

So basically this product is ok. It works well once you can convince a wriggling child to get it on their fingernails ( and even then they rush to the bathroom to try to wash it off… ) . However after test running it on myself I found that it only lasts about a day or two at most before you have to reapply it! Disappointing honestly. As advertised it does taste horrible and discourage biting in the short term but honestly did it break the child’s habit? Nope. Don’t think I really recommend it and there are other ways to stop biting fingernails. Just need to find one that works…
