Madonna explored sexuality in her misjudged masterpiece Erotica 5 years prior, but Janet takes everything further and also in the song Free Xone she references to same sex relationships and takes on the homophobes(quite extraoridinary). overall, this is one of the greatest gems of the 90's that still has an impact today much like that of Rhythm Nation 1814 and Control. filled with R & B grooves like 'Janet.' inense dance beats like never before and with two years in production she has made an incredible triumph in music. 10/10 Review: Released : 7/10/1997 - The front looks a bit scary

Miss Janet's "The Velvet Rope" project
It's dark, liberating and honest record! Songs like You, Free Xone and Rope Burn are pure r'n'b masterpieces! The whole album is a story that runs flawless. There are very few albums that can boast with perfection which carries this album. Lyrically provocative, gentle, honest and dark to the extent that anyone can find a smaller or larger part of themselves in this. Give it a chance, from beginning to end, this album deserves to be listened to without skipping a single song. 10/10.

Literally defined 90s and still influences artists like Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Beyonce. One of a kind experience that gets better with each listen!

The SEXY album
Janet Jackson unleashes her sexiness throughout this album with sensual sexy tracks like Rope Burn, Go Deep, I Get Lonely etc. This album brought about her phenomenal The Velvet Rope Tour which gave a further glimpse into how wonderfully talented Janet is as an artist in her own right. It is known that this album has been overlooked in the past and has not been given its due credit which is a shame but it truly stands out as one of Janet's top 3 albums.

LOVE this album. i can really relate to so many tracks on this album!! Every time,You,What About,Go Deep,I Get Lonely!! this album could well be Janet's best!! it also has her best selling UK single Together Again!

only got the record because of j dilla's involvment in got till its gone but actualy apart from together again which is incredibly corny its actually a really good album. r.i.p j dilla

I bought this as a gift for my fiancée, who is a massive Janet Jackson fan, and she was overtly happy with this. The packaging and presentation is beautiful, and each record come sleeved individually with a logo on it, so you can display that as well. Highly recommended!

Le canzoni che ci sono in questo CD mi piacciono moltissimo, l'ho voluto prendere perché è la versione completa confronto al CD originale, contiene remix e un pó più canzoni. I fan di Janet non possono non averlo
