Brother Bear: Disney proudly presents Brother Bear , an epic animated adventure full of comedy and heart. With five great new songs from Academy Award® winner Phil Collins, it’s an entertainment experience the whole family will enjoy. In this spectacular coming-of-age story based on ancient myths, an impulsive boy named Kenai is magically transformed into a bear. He has no choice but to see the world through another’s eyes while he learns some valuable life lessons and strives to regain his human form. Unable to communicate with his human brother, Kenai teams up with Koda, an irrepressible bear cub, and sets out on a courageous journey of self-discovery. Amidst breathtaking, beautifully animated scenery, they encounter a forest full of wildlife, including hilarious moose brothers Rutt and Tuke, woolly mammoths, rambunctious rams and more! Brother Bear is an unforgettable tale that explores the true meaning of brotherhood and what it means to walk in the footsteps of another. Brother Bear 2: Kenai is back, and he is off to the picturesque Pacific Northwest at the end of the Ice Age. During his adventures, he still dreams of his previous life as a human, before he transformed into a bear. As a human child, he befriended Nita, the daughter of a tribal elder and the pair’s past friendship collides with the present as Kenai and Nita embark on an epic journey together. Between the films and numerous extras this should keep the family entertained for a whole long wet weekend. The story is inspired by Innuit culture and legend, the setting brings the stunning landscape and glorious Northern Lights of Alaska and the Canadian Northwest to the screen. Kenai's story as he grows up and learns to adapt is at the centre of the film, the little bear Koda who befriends him is adorable and the two deadpan moose steal every scene they're in. Film one is an absolute treat. More fun than the film itself is the irreverent commentary track featuring the two moose. Classic. Also lovely the soundtrack including several Phil Collins songs. Although you probably have to be my generation (basically a grandparent) to get excited over that. The second film isn't quite on the same level. Yes, it's part two of the coming of age story - fniding a mate - but the romance of the bear with the beautiful maiden didn't really cut it for me and little Koda was a bit too precocious for my taste. Then again, the two hilarious moose get more screen time in the sequel. Much more. And they are as entertaining as ever. Or more so. Priceless. No commentary track for this film, this time the smarta** remarks of the moose are incorporated in the story in the form of dialogue. Sort of. Anyway, it works very well and for me they are the real stars of film two and make it worth watching. Both DVDs have subtitles for those who need or want them. For those who are interested, these are the extra features included: DVD 1: ~~~ Koda's Outtakes ~~~ Rutt & Tuke's Commentary ~~~ "Look Through My Eyes" Music Video ~~~ Brother Bear Games ~~~ Bear Legends, Native American Tales ~~~ Making Noise: The Art of Foley ~~~ Art Review ~~~ Deleted Scenes ~~~ "Fishing Song" - Never-Before-Heard Song ~~~ "Transformation" Song - With Original Phil Collins' Lyrics DVD 2: ~~~ Game: Trample off, Eh? ~~~ Bonue Video: Behind the Music of Brother Bear 2 8 page leaflet with puzzles, colour in and connect the dots Disney characters. Review: Brother bear 2 - Beautiful heart warming story and exploring native American legends.
