Varilight MJP300 V-Pro High Wattage LED Dimmer Module 300W, White

I fitted this into my existing dimmer as I was changing a room with 12 halogen downlights to led. It’s a great dimmer switch and was very easy to change over. It has 3 different programmes to handle leading edge bulbs and trailing edge bulbs (the most common and it has 2 programmes for this mode). It worked fine on the default trailing edge bulbs I bought 5w Lumilife). It has a soft start which brings the lights up gradually over a second to two which takes a bit of getting used to and it dims down to about 30% of full brightness, not quite as low as the halogens would go but enough for me. It can also be programmed not to go quite as low if that is required. The bulbs I fitted were simple replacements and at 2700K colour are almost identical to the 50W halogens I took out, maybe slightly brighter but now use 60W instead of the 600W with the halogens! It’s noiseless in operation (trailing edge is silent whereas I believe leading edge can buzz a little. Only thing that caught me out is the spindle on the dimmer is much thicker than my previous switch so I’ve had to buy the knob to fit this unit. Overall very happy with this dimmer and instructions, from wiring to programming are very clear, so happy to recommend. Quite expensive but with all the options it should mean that it can be set for each individual requirement.

Works well in combination with reed switches and multiple drivers. Had issues with other brands but this one works solidly!

We have a ten LED Light fitting which needs to be dimmed, the old dimmer module failed after a month so replaced with this and had been working ok for a while now.

Easy replacement for my old dimmer when I changed my lights to LEDs. LEDs dim nicely and no buzzing. The only thing that takes a bit of getting used to is the lights don't come on immediately - there's a short delay and then the lights fade up to full power. The delay is probably less than a second but it isn't the instantaneous on that used to happen with my old halogen bulbs. The switch can programmed to operate in 1 of 3 modes but all modes I tried had a delay - some worse than others. This may be down to the LEDs I use (Philips) so might not be an issue to everyone. All in all a great replacement when I changed my 50 watt halogen bulbs (all twelve of them!) to LEDs.

Brilliant dimmer module. I have used many v pro dimmers and they seem to work with all leds I have tried. I use them in other face plates when their dimmer won't work.

Great dimmer for LED spot lights. Easy to programme if needed.

Did the job perfectly - replaced (and in fact upgraded to higher wattage) a broken dimmer module in a Jim Lawrence 4-way dimmer switch.

Wouldn’t use any other dimmer with led’s, works very well and is completely programmable to suit led lights. Worth every penny.
