I have wondered about what it would be like to use a whole body vibration plate since first seeing this exercise equipment on Amazon a couple of years ago. Most of all, I wondered whether this kind of exercise equipment would help my mother and other mostly immobile people in terms of getting their muscles firing and helping pump their lymphatic systems. The Lunix LX18 Whole Body Vibration Plate is one serious piece of exercise equipment. It is very well-built and will get your entire body shaking in no time. I was stunned to find out just how much jiggle action this small stair-stepper-like piece of machinery can produce in your body.I am a total health nut and have done posture exercises almost every day since 2010 and haven’t missed a day in eight years. I miss my rebounder, however, and think the Lunix LX18 Whole Body Vibration Plate helps fill in part of what rebounding provides by flushing toxins via my lymphatic system. This unit comes with a vertical bar with handles for you to hang on to. (At 6 feet, 2 inches tall, I wish this bar were taller, thicker and sturdier, however, as it extends from 26.8 inches to just 38 inches high, although this height might be typical for this exercise equipment line. A phone holder that can attach to the bar and Bluetooth speaker are included.) The manual lists 27 recommended exercises, from lateral walking and lunges to high knees and leg raises, with your glutes firmly positioned on the vibration plate. You can even do planks and mountain climbers as well as bicep curls and tricep extensions using the included resistance bands with handles. For side walking and squats, for example, you can use an included elastic band, with three kinds included for varying levels of resistance. These can be especially handy for most when doing squats to help rein in rotated femurs. (Tip: Your knees should point directly forward, not flare off at angles.)The remote control makes the Lunix LX18 Whole Body Vibration Plate a breeze to use. You can easily set vibration speed (1 to 99) and workout duration (1 to 20 minutes) as well as press the program button to cycle through nine programs. P1 through P3 take you from 1 to 33 in vibration speed, with P4 through P6 cycling through 34 to 66 in vibration speed. If you really want to ramp things up, P7 through P9 will have you moving at 67 to 99 in vibration speed—seriously shaking! You’ll be wanting to sing along to “Good Vibrations,” the Beach Boys' classic song. In case your remote control batteries quit before you want to end your workout, the on-board controls feature much of the same functionality, sans the walk, jog and run buttons. The foot platform features accupoint magnetic therapy stones to give your feet added sensation.I continue to experiment with ways to use this tool, and one of the biggest values I see for it is to give at-home workers a chance to get out of their office chairs and to fire up their muscles for a few minutes multiple times a day. With remote work eliminating longer walks to bathrooms, water coolers and lunchrooms as well as distances from bus and train stations or parking lots to places of employment, the Lunix LX18 Whole Body Vibration Plate can help serve as a way to improve blood circulation while giving your muscles some stimulus. I also view this tool as a way to help those who struggle with movement because of inactivity-caused reduced musculoskeletal function, injuries or birth defects. I just received this today and just had to try it out. It seems to be built very well. It’s much heavier than expected. Good for up to 265 pounds. I’m glad I don’t weigh anymore than I do, lol. My balance is very bad. I definitely needed the handles to hold onto. Instead of the normal beginning 15 minutes, I started with 5. I’m gonna have to work up to more time. I can really feel it in my legs and hips. It’s also pretty quiet. The Bluetooth hooked up to my phone easily. I’ll have to take the case off my phone for it to fit in the phone holder though.

I like that this has a very securely attached handle that you can hold onto while climbing on and off of it, and while using it. I attached it with heavy bolts and I know it’s not going anywhere unless I want it to. For the elderly or anyone without good balance, this would be a very important feature. I prefer to use it without it so I can sit on it or do handstands or other weird movements. The build is robust, and the adjustments are very variable and intuitive to use as is the remote. The Bluetooth speakers are pretty awful, frankly. They’re tinny and the voice that announces it’s ready to connect sounds like it’s out of a bad 60s futuristic movie.My first machine worked initially, but within a week it started showing error messages and stopping within seconds. I must’ve gotten a lemon, and I was disappointed. If it had worked, it would’ve been a good value. Customer service contacted me after I posted my review. I had to wait a while until a replacement came back into stock, but the C/S agent stayed in contact with me with updates on inventory. I received the replacement a few days ago, set it up, and it works great. The speakers are still tinny! But the machine itself is heavy and heavy duty. I think I had a faulty circuit board in my first one, but this one seems very solid and I hope it lasts me for years and years. It has the feel of something that certainly could. I’m pleased. Their manual says that their customer service is US based and from my communications with them, I believe it. I appreciate that about a company.Had my first one worked flawlessly and/or my issue been handled more promptly, I’d be rating this five stars. It’s a five star product.

The media could not be loaded. I had chronic pain in my foot for years. Physical therapy for a year was fantastic for me but keeping up with my exercises at home is key. I really like this machine to get my blood flowing. It comes with resistance bands which is great for staying mobile. The device itself was very simple to assemble and it even comes with pictures of different exercises you can do. This device.is probably a great addition for those of us starting to get stiff and trying to reverse the affects of aging.

The bar to hold onto and cell phone attachment seem like a good idea, but it’s SO LOUD!!! The bar shakes side to side and makes a crazy noise. There’s NOOOOO way you could watch your phone while it’s slinging back and forth! Had to remove the bar and cell holder. Could have saved money and got cheaper one without it.

Fun and compact exercise plate, my wife really enjoys it, we like it does not take up much space to use in our living room.

It injured my feet. They burned for weeks, and my arch for over two months. The setting is very high and will go no lower. I got it for my legs, since I am considered elderly, and I am inactive. The first time I used it I had shoes on, and it did help my legs. The next morning I looked at the booklet that came with it, and saw ladies with bare feet on the machine, so I got on with socks. Some time after I noticed my feet were burning on the bottom, which lasted at least a month or so. One arch hurt for at least two months after, and still aches occasionally. When the machine is turned on, there is a voice in a language I don't speak.I suggest caution with this machine!
