Pros- Works perfectly with the a6700 HawkLock cage. I find value in the quick release and how secure it really is. Looks great, feels great. Great handle for the HawkLock system. Cons- This is the biggest con and was quite a surprise to me (made me pretty upset at first) until I realized the solution. If you use the DJI Mic 2 and use the DJI mic hot shoe adapter to make audio seamless, sadly the adapter will not fit with the Sony a6700 HawkLock cage and handle combo 👎🏼. However, you need to keep your DJI receiver on the built-in cold shoe mount on the cage and use the included TRS to TRS cable to get audio when using Mic 2. With that out of the way, I say the only other thing is you'll have to figure out getting the right balance if you intend to use a camera monitor (the main reason why I bought this handle). It will be too top-heavy, so you should consider mounting your monitor towards the back of the handle for one-handed use to create a better balance - if you are two-handing, then none of this will matter. I'm still giving it 5 stars as I value how easy the locking system is. Just keep the hot shoe adapter situation in mind so you won't be disappointed! Minor inconvenience—not worth not buying if you own a HawkLock cage, specifically the a6700 cage.

I got this top handle really because I wanted it to match the color of the rotating side handle I also bought from SmallRig. I love the HawkLock technology and how easy it is to use.

My first handle. It feels comfortable, solid, the quick release is great. It's worth the price, it is simple to use and stable. It goes great with my canon EOS R cage. I recommend it. 👍

Like many SmallRig products, the fit and finish are great. Weighty but in a good quality sense, not super burdensome to carry. The quick release works great and is overall a solid upgrade to a camera cage.

I like the HawkLock system in general a lot for its rock-solid connections and trivial quick release, and this handle is as solid for it as it looks. Unfortunately it is quite big; too big for my small rig to be able to balance well in either forward or reverse. I'd really like to see a mini-HawkLock handle released. This handle is clearly designed for more typical rigs that run larger lenses and particularly rear-mounted batteries (admittedly, that's what's shown in the marketing material). Also, the included HawkLock rail isn't particularly better than the basic square ones included with the magic arms and such, as it allows only the same singular mounting point (only 2x2 HawkLock pin grooves). It'd be much better if this handle came with the longer rail (7x2 grooves) included with the Tilt Monitor Mount / Side Handle, to enable horizontal balancing.

This is an excellent top handle. The build quality is outstanding — it locks in securely, and I never worry about it coming loose or detaching from the camera. It gives me a solid, confident grip and adds so much versatility with all the accessory mounting options. Easy to use, reliable, and makes rigging the FX3 a breeze. Absolutely love it.

I had to order this because I was on set and my top handle broke off when I pulled my camera down while it was on a flycam, it was the rhinoceros top handle and a issue/descrapancy Smallrig will be made aware of. I decided to go with this top handle because it looks reliable and feels reliable, the base is metal so going forward I don't have to worry about it breaking while I'm actively filming a scene.

There’s a slight wiggle in the space where it attaches to the Nato rail. The handle’s hawklock attachment seems to be slightly to big for the Nato rail and this causes it to wiggle. On a light rig this causes the handle to wiggle and is less stable during action movements. On a heavy rig the weight seems to stop the wiggle, so for me its fine as I use heavy rigs. Seems to me a manufacturing issue.

Manca la chiave a stella per stringere i 2 attacchi hawklock sul fronte e retro della maniglia. In quella arrivatami sono leggermente svitati così qualsiasi cosa monti balla un pochino… con tutte le brugole che smallrig mette sempre poteva, anzi doveva!, inserire anche questa chiave o meglio poteva usare una vite esagonale classica…

This top handle is really nicely made, The machining and finish is really nicely done. I actually like the feeling of the square handle and rubber grip. It's surprisingly ergonomic, and I feel like I have a bit more control than if it had been more rounded. It is really comfortable to hold, and fits my mid sized hands well. It's a shame SmallRig have designed it so it only really mounts properly with their own included clamp. The mounting does work exceptionally well, it's smooth to fit and locks great. If they had made it universal though I would have had more fitment options and a bit more respect for them. As it is though as long as you are aware of that I think it's definitely a 5 star item, in terms of build, looks and functionality.
