I have a battery of mixers , usually working with my commercial 20 Qt stainless Hobart mixer , yet sometimes I need something smaller and my 7 qt Ankarsrum mixer or my KitchenAide 6 qt fills in. Yet this 8 Qt commercial is a blessing and I am so happy I added it to my batterie de cuisine! It does the smaller batches perfectly! As a pastry chef, I highly recommend.

The description here and at the kitchenaid website both state that this bowl will not fit the 5.5 qt bowl-lift mixer model KSM55. I bought it before I read that and planned on returning it when it arrived. I'm happy to say that it does fit that mixer. I attached it and raised it up and ran the machine. It works perfectly.

This replacement bowl works great. Has deep sides that works great when making bread to keep flour from flying. Fits my kitchen aid lift bowl perfectly.
