Barnabas Blattgold Gold Leaf - 23.75K Real Gold [25 Sheets, 3.4 inches] - Transfer Patent for Painting, Arts and Crafts

Used this gold leaf on some outdoor decorative plaques. This was my wife's 1st attempt at gilding and the patent sheets really helped her manage the leaf. She did not use a clear overcoat as this is not recommended or needed for high carat gold. Good product and would purchase again.

My first attempt at this. I watched a video where they pick up the gold leaf with a tweezer but I found using this product much easier because the leaf came on a piece of tissue paper which was much easier to handle. It also made for less waste of the gold leaf. I’d use this again.

Overall good transfer 23k gold, no problems using. I would give 5 star but a handful of leaves in a 25 pack have large, "lightning bolt" pattern irregularities that show up when it is smoothed and buffed. Certainly can expect some irregularities unless using "glass gold" but this seems to be a bit more common than in gold from the other vendor I've used. This may or may not be a problem for you depending on what you're doing. It is not the best look for my purposes

This is the best leaf gold. Last year when it ran out I was really in a pinch. Hope that does not happen again.

Very impressed with the quality and usability. Transfer works very well and the finish is nice. Makes a beautiful addition to Orthodox iconography.

Excellent product. Never touch the gold with your fingers. Use the paper backing. Lay the gold side carefully onto the glue that you are using. Leave the paper on for a bit and very gently pat down or roll with a small roller. Then remove the paper carefully. Areas that didn't take well can be patched with a fresh sheet. Also keep partial sheets to use for patching small rough places. I have found that newly-patched areas adhere to the "bad" areas without re-application of glue. Can't explain this, but it seems to work well. Don't cough, sneeze, or breathe hard around this product. It will go everywhere. It can be scary to work with at first, but I found that I got better at it pretty fast, and so will you. Then it's fun. I use it to cover the halos of Orthodox saints on religious icons. I was terrified the first time I used it.

se pone bien para dorado al agua. hojitas del librillo vienen bien colocadas. he repetido la marca varias veces. suelo usar el de 22 kilates.
