There is a strip of black rubber like material on each side but it was attached very ...
I purchased this for our grandchildren as a Christmas gift. Since we live in the Northeast, they just used it for the first time. You guessed it!!! It fell apart!!! There is a strip of black rubber like material on each side but it was attached very poorly and after once in the ocean, all came off. The board was not misused.VERY Disappointed all around, it can not be returned now.....

1 of 2 boards is already showing signs of deteriorating after only a few uses.
I purchased two of these (1 red, 1 green) for a recent trip to the beach. The bad:- The red boards plastic ring that screws through the board and attaches to the tether was not cored straight causing me to have to screw it down harder than it should in order to seat the two halves together. This left some indentations on the top side.- After 2 days of light use the black edging on the red one is peeling off. I will try some Guerrilla glue to see if I can repair it myself. The good:- The boards themselves worked good for both my 6yr old son, my wife, and myself. I was able to place my son on the front part of the board and lay behind him while catching some waves until he got the hang of it (which didn't take long) at that point he kicked me off and went solo.So far the green board is not showing any issues but I don't have terribly high hopes based on the poor workmanship of the red one and the red beginning to come apart already.**Update 09/28/16**Took this to the beach in July and while it only saw limited use again this year the black edging has come completely off the red one. The board itself is still intact but I am disappointed that with only a few uses this one continues to deteriorate. That being said the green one which has seen more use is still holding up.

Look at something else!
Bought 4 of these for our Florida vacation. All 4 survived the week but doubt if they would have made it much longer. The kids averaged probably 3 hours a day on them in 2-3 foot surf for 5 days. By the end of day one they started to come apart. You can see the black side piece in the photo that came off day one. If you look closely at the photo you will see all of the boards have pieces coming off and bubbling. All boards could still be used and that’s why I gave it 2 stars. They served their purpose. However, they are at the end of their short lives with minimal use in small/tiny surf. The kids enjoyed them but if I had to do again I would definitely go with different boards. As someone who grew up surfing SoCal I can tell you none of these would have made it through a full day of big surf. 4 out of 4 are done!

Low quality
Bought 3 of these. After 2 days at the beach they are coming apart. My kids all weigh under 70lbs and are pretty respectful of their things. The glue they use to hold these together has failed.

Great Board - So Much Fun
Took our green Lucky Bums Body Board to North Carolina where the waves are relatively small. It was a ton of fun to use and unlike some of the cheap boards we saw, it didn't break up. And with the tether it didn't get lost either. (One of our tubes got swept out to sea.)You can't tell it from the photo but the bottom is white and a hard smooth material that doesn't provide much friction. So you'll catch the waves and have a great ride-- even on the smaller waves.I'm a mom, by the way, and at 5'8" I'm a bit hefty at this time and I had no problem using this board, and the board had no problem with my size or my over 6 foot husband.SUMMARYGood quality board. It's suitable for adults, teens, and tweens. The tether is quality, as is the board. My only mistake was not buying two.Recommend.

Bubble board
Disappointed. It looks like it's made well, it was fine at the beach but then, then next day, after one day of using it, the foam bubbled up on top. I would expect that for a product that is priced lower. I spent a little more on this as I had previously bought a couple of cheaper ones that fell apart before the first day was over. I thought I would spend a little more and get something of a little better quality. Bummed out.

Nice but not worth the money
I will start by saying when I received this board it had a large dent/damaged spot on it so I ended up returning, but I think the board itself looks like nice quality and does look like the picture.HOWEVER personally I think the cheap $5-$10 boards you can buy at your local Walmart or 5 and Below store are just as nice and much cheaper product.

Stronger than your average board....
Nice quality board. Although I saw less expensive ($14) body boards sold locally, I wanted something that would stand up to my kids running from the side of the pool and jumping on top. Since they managed to crack the cheaper boards in a day, this board help up and withstood the abuse.

I bought these base on reviews and am seriously disappointed. The black side edging came off as well
Bought three of these for my kids to use in Mexico, ages 6 & 9. We had them for 11 days, and used them for probably four of the days. Within those days Two of the units began ti bubble on the top ( top blue covering lifted up from the base) which means the first rip it gets water will run into it and separate the layer completely. I bought these base on reviews and am seriously disappointed. The black side edging came off as well. What kind of adhesive do you use? Oh and also, the bottom of the one unit began getting these weird creases on the base. Have a look at other boards to take on your vacation. I will be writing the company to let them know what a let down these were for our trip.Take a look at the photos and decide for yourself before you decide to buy. It will be interesting to see what the company does about these defective boards. Weak at best.

Perfect Rides
Had a broken boogie board and decided to replace it with a good real body board. Product came in time and in perfect condition. What a difference size makes with body boards. Compared with the cheap ones at box stores the lucky bumsboard is far more buoyant. Super happy. One lucky beach bum.

Great fun
Bought two of these boards for a three week beach trip - Dark Blue was affected by the sun, where the surface bubbled and eventually pealed off but the Neon Green one stayed perfectly intact. I'm guessing Dark Blue absorbed the sun more than the Neon Green. Both are made of the same material. Rated five stars because Amazon took care of us. Thanks! Would buy again!
