In short:If you value your privacy or control over your information, I would NOT recommend this or any other SwiftFinder product (such as "Smart Luggage Tag Locator").Nowhere is it mentioned that you are going to be required to create and sign into an account with SwiftFinder just to add the devices to the (Android) app. You can attempt to add a device, but the app will attempt to force you to create an account or sign in with one and will not let you add the device. You'll be told (as of 6/26/2018):===Sign in is required for most important featureso Restore device list after changing phoneo Find lost item by our crowd GPS networkSign in now to protect your valuable items!===It does not say an account is REQUIRED for non-important features, only "for most important features". It is also NOT advertised that an account is required. Quite frankly, as an electronics engineering hobbyist, I can say that an account would never need to be required for any functionality EXCEPT the crowd-GPS. Their "Privacy Policy" is (in my opinion) definitely geared towards advertising and "more...with my information". My friends and I assume the worst, though for legal reasons I'll let you interpret it for yourself.I attempted to firewall the app (rooted, for the savvy) but it refuses to add a device without connecting to SwiftFinder.I've about had it with BLE-tracking technology/companies in general. Dirt cheap but overpriced devices, apps that harvest your location or demand filesystem/contacts (etc) access on your phone...or demand account creation/tying for a feature you may not even want...I've just had it.

The app and product are 2 different things. When I realized the 3rd day after installing the app that the tiles were not connecting to my phone , I emailed the app that it wasn't working. They replied it was the tile not working, not their app. But the app itself restarts at least 6 times a day. Also know that like most constant apps, the battery will drain quickly with this running. I was willing to deal with that if it meant not losing my wallet and keys. Finally, I can place tile next to my phone and they don't connect. And if they are by chance showing connected, the tile and/or phone won't ring when asked. I own 4 tiles connected to 2 different phones and they all are acting this way with the app. Is it the tile or the app not functioning correctly ? I don't know and I'm not going to play with 2 different companies to problem solve.

Bought two of them for me and my wife. Had for about a month. Then had a need to use and guess what? It says out of range. Found them about three feet from me. Totally worthless product and wish I could take this star off

Awesome. Got for my mom that always loses her keys and phone. Now I no longer get drafted to tear the house apart looking for her keys and phone. Both phone and the item the tag is used on beep to let you know where the item is.

This thing is cute, but not great. It isn’t very loud. I had it a month and dropped it. The battery popped out and wouldn’t work no matter how I tried to reload it. I contacted the company a week ago, but they haven’t bothered to respond.

Did not work or connect to either of my iPhones. Returned as defective.

Set up of the SwiftFinder ST02 was simple through the free app. When searching for the item attached to the ST02, i found the sound was very low. Because of this, you need to be close to the item in order to find it.

Worked only for 6 weeks. Waste of money
