Don’t expose this bag to hot liquids! It will leak wax all over everything.
I had high hopes for this bag but after a week I ended up throwing it out. I had this in my backpack holding my lunch and my thermos of tea leaked a little bit which usually isn’t a big deal. When the hot water got on this bag it leaked melted wax all through my backpack ruining it because the wax is impossible to get out. If I had known the wax would come out of the bag this easy I would have never bought it. There’s no warning about hot liquids it just says to not wash it. They need to do a better job warning against hot liquids. The bag is also quite a bit larger than advertised but I tried hard to make it work.

Spills (even big ones) don't leak through!
I thought this was awesome when it arrived, but it really won my husband's heart yesterday when he took soup and fruit to work. At lunch, he opened his bag & found that his container of soup had opened and his fruit was floating in liquid. He poured the soup out & rinsed the inside of the thing with water, and was so surprised & pleased that he showed it to me - and had me smell the inside of the bag! - when he got home. I want to buy another one even though we don't need it - just because it's that amazing!

Roomy, stylish and sturdy
I ordered this bag as a unique lunchbox to take to work. It is very durable and actually holds my lunch and snack for the day. Pics show the size. I may even order another color soon. I didnt need an insulated bag since there are refrigerators at work so this works out great.

Stylish yet simple and sturdy lunch bag
If you're like me, you probably don't really want to be carrying around the same insulated lunch box with a shoulder strap that you had in middle school. But you might not be ready for something so pretty it looks more like a purse (especially as a guy). This kind of perfectly fills that niche. It's simple and sturdy yet classy enough for the office. If you look at similar products, you'll see they're noticeably flimsier, and I wouldn't be super into spending more time looking for lunch bags to replace them. Anyway, it's a solid buy.Just a note: I did end up getting the wrong color through a fulfillment glitch (more of a brown bag guy myself), but they handled it within minutes of my writing them. Very impressive service from a family-run business.

Stiff and doesn't store well.
I also got the gray one, the gray one is much softer than the tan, though neither stay rolled down when you roll it up. I think since they are unable to stay rolled down, the photo shouldn't show them light that. Just sitting there they will unroll quickly, and since the bag is very tall, it's not subtle. I've considered finding a way to sew a buckle onto it to make it store nicer, when waiting to eat lunch.Overall, I don't like it and would not recommend, though i do love waxed canvas and i have a waxed canvas purse too, which i do love.

Doesn't stay rolled up, so it just flops over into a messy heap when you're waiting to eat your lunch.

Great lunch bag.
Item is new @ 1 week so this is first impressions. Design and build: clean, minimal look. No features, extra pockets etc. it is literally a canvas version of a classic brown paper bag. Build: sturdy gauge canvas, tight stitching. Good application of wax. When you roll the top down and crimp it it stays closed. Leaking: I use a plastic bag as a liner to avoid getting the canvas wet. Not sure what the thermal properties of waxed canvas are but this bag is otherwise not lined in any way for thermal insulation. I’m going to get or make a Marvel Seal bag to insert as a liner/ seal. Cleaning: waxed canvas isn’t really cleanable. Soaps and hot water compromise the wax. You’re advised to brush clean which doesn’t really clean the way people mean when they say “clean.” If, say, an avocado or your pasta sauce got all mashed into the bag you could wipe and brush the bulk of it away but there'd likely be a stain. If this prospect bothers you this bag is probably not the product for you. I have numerous waxed canvas things and rarely clean any of them. It is also possible to strip the wax, fully clean canvas and rewax. Not a hard process but takes some time.

Cute bag. Simple. Could use a little more height to aid in rolling.
I've used this almost daily for about six months now. It's cute and a conversation piece. I wish it were ever so slightly wider for large tupperware to sit down squarely and level. Also wish it were a bit taller. I actually was worried that it would be too tall, but hadn't realized that with a tupperware, for lumnch, my eye glass case and a tupperware for breakfast, there is little material left for rolling. An extra inch or two would be great. I've never washed it, but it seems like the wax is disappearing. You can apply more wax if desired.

Looks awful!
I ordered brown and I’m sorry but it looks horrid and is overpriced in my opinion. I might as well take my lunch to work in an old potato sack! It also has loads of crease marks on it which make it look even worse. Returning ASAP.
