This cable works well for charging my older iPod. I like the high quality construction which would resist breaking or accidental cutting. It is very flexible and doesn't tangle.

I bought three of these cables; one for my computer, one for my stereo so I could keep the battery charged while playing music, and one for the kitchen counter to use as a charger for my third iPod. I was surprised to discover that after an iPod was plugged in all night, its battery did not charge. I did some checking, testing each iPod and all three cables and found that only one of the three new cables will actually charge the batteries. However, all three cords will transfer data from my computer's iTunes library. I would stay clear of these cables based on my experience.
