High Visibility Dog Vest, Large

Exactly what I was looking for. We do a lot of walking on roads with no sidewalk/shoulder, in some places near lots of trees and shade. Since my dog walks on my left, I'm always concerned about passing traffic. I was looking for a lightweight safety vest for night walks and dark areas. Ideally both warm and cold weather usable as I've yet to find a jacket/fleece that was reflective (as it's purpose, not an afterthought). This more than got the job done. The main part is mesh, so it's light and breathable, the reflective side stripes are wide and bright. Used it last night for our last walk (early Oct, still warm out), and my dog doesn't even notice she's wearing it (although she's used to jackets in cold weather). I also put her in her heavy winter fleece coat and then put this over top to see if it would do that job. I think it'll do just fine. The shape is cut cleverly to accommodate a larger range of dog shapes. The top is secured in the chest with a nice wide strip of velcro, allowing for a fair amount of size adjustment. The neck opening is elongated at the back of the neck so that it's not restricting a dog's lifting it's head (if it has a big neck, my skinny girl has a lot of empty space behind her head). The measurements are pretty accurate on the chart (at least for the Small I ordered). My dog is 14" neck to rear, but only 18 in around the chest, so she's kind of long and this does put her in a weird size/shape group. The length is spot on to the chart (it's a little short on her, but I'm used to that), the girth is a little bigger than expected, but the strap sits lower on her chest/belly than the widest point, so maybe it's not really off by much. At it's smallest size it still fit her fine (the strap is elastic/stretchy), gave us more than enough slack to allow me to put it over top of her winter coat (thick Fido Fleece).

I recently purchased 4 of these, 2 of which were gifts. My brother lives way out in the country. There are no street lights and plenty of hunters in the fall. I noticed his 110lb Rottweiler was almost impossible to see at night when he let her outside off leash and could easily be mistaken for game or not be seen by a car. I ordered an XL. It fits her perfectly and is highly reflective so that she can be seen by house light, flashlight or car. My brother loves it.The second one was for a friend who has a 30lb Schipperke/Cocker Spaniel mix that is very flighty and loves to dart all over the place (and towards cars) even when in leash. The dog is short, and so black that even with the street lights of the suburbs and the lights of the cars on the street it is hard to see him. A Medium fits him well and my friend won't walk his dog at night without the vest on anymore. He puts the vest on and then fits the walking harness over that.I have two Keeshonds. One is a taller than standard 50lb male and the other is a standard 38lb female. An XL and a large fit each one, respectively, as the breed is very barrel chested. They are long haired with a double coat and I don't have to worry about them overheating with the lightweight mesh of the vest. The belly strap is adjustable which is great, and neither that nor the Velcro around the neck closure trap my dogs' hair. I will most definitely order more of these when the ones I purchased wear out.On a side note.... I ordered one in a size Small thinking it would fit my friend's mixed breed but it was too small. As I had already opened the package, I gave it to a co-worker with a 1 year old Boston Terrier. Fits him well.

When purchasing this for our dog we initially bought the extra large. We have a 65lb lab and while he is short his chest is broad. We measure his chest and length along the back and according to the sizing chart he should have been an extra large, When it arrived it was huge on him. The velcro at the front for his chest area was on the tightest it could be, but it still slid to the side as the I couldn't get it tight enough on the waist and it was also way too long on him hanging over his tail. The measurements don't seem to be quite right, even though our dog fit into the x-large category for chest and length it was way too big. He does tend to narrow from the chest to his hips, but even still it was too long and even the chest velcro had trouble keeping him tight. I do give this 4 stars as once we got the large it fits him great, it doesn't slide off to the side or twist, it is very comfortable for him to run in and it is so light weight he truly has no idea he has it on. It has a great reflective range and I feel comfortable running at night with him by my side knowing the cars see him as much as they see me!

So simple, so effective. I bought this for my jack russell chihuahua. There are only two straps, one around the chest and one around the middle. I needed something for him to wear when we went hunting/hiking so someone didn't think he was a rabbit. I also put this on him when we go for walks at night. Highly visible, fits well, well-made, great value for the item. I have to get a couple more in a bigger size for my other dogs.

My dog is very sensitive to heat, and unfortunately he overheats quite easily. We hike in the woods frequently, and I wanted to find a high-visibility vest that would breathe and allow my pup to stay cool and comfortable. I found that this vest fit him the best out of any vest I tried for him, and I love that the orange is bright but still allows air to flow thanks to the perforations. This was the vest that my dog seemed most comfortable in. I also found that it dries really quickly - which is great if your dog decides to cool off in a lake or river, or if they roll in something smelly - I just hose it off, wash it with some dog shampoo, and leave it in the sun to dry.My dog wore this vest all summer, multiple times a week. It has a few snags from being dragged through the pricker bushes and low-hanging branches, but I have no doubt that this vest will continue to serve to keep my dog safe this fall and next year.

highly recommended. our dog wears it all year long when he's outside as we're in a backcountry neighbourhood where he may go roaming alone and we appreciate the high visibility and durability. our previous vest lasted for 3 years, just got a new one and love it

I have two great Danes, 325 pounds of playful dogs. These vests stand up to rough play very well. My one dog run through the bush fast and hard. Rubbing on the undergrowth and branches. Vests are holding up well. The beasts grab each other by the vest and no tears yet. I just ordered on for my sisters boxer. These are Awsome.

Love this high visibility vest. I have a black dog and even though he’s on leash at night people in my neighbourhood drive like maniacs so I feel better with the vest. I like the elasticized stomach strap - holds the vest in position well, so I don’t find that it ends up twisting too much to one side or another. Plus it’s adorable! My dog has outgrown his so I’ll be buying another bigger size.

My dogs are off-leash on farmland where a family dog was shot by a trespassing hunter. These vests are very bright/reflective and visible so anyone lining them up in their crosshairs would know without a doubt they are pets and not wolves/coyote. That I have to worry about that at all is absurd but this is a fine product that keeps my dogs safer.
