This is a Masterpiece of a game.
This game is a masterpiece and one the greatest games I have ever played. Never played the orginal mgs 3(but played others MGS Games) and I absolutely love this game! The writing is phenomenal, the voice acting is top notch, graphics on ps5 pro are fantastic though i hate Unreal Engine 5 due to some performance issues. Controls are a but odd initially and take some getting used to in comparison to other games but all in all thr gameplay and storytelling is FANTASTIC. I Highly recommend this game to anyone even remotely interested in slow methodical stealth gameplay like splinter cell or the hitman series. Hideo Kojimas games are timeless classic that deserve support and at LEAST 1 playthrough. The unique boss battles are amazing!

A makeover that respects the original.
Good remake, I like the added wrinkles to the gameplay, but to be honest for those sitting on the fence: it is still the same game. At base, you can play this cheaper in the collection that came out a couple of years ago. Whether the update in graphics and few gameplay tweaks is worth full price is what one should consider. Never played MGS3 at all? I would recommend easily for a first timer (though I’d still point out the cheaper option as a choice too), but for the rest, it depends on how much the graphics and modern controls matter to you. Either way, original or this new one, MGS3 is a great game and worth playing. Which version is worth your money, however, is entirely up to you as the base game is the same. Personally, I hope they do this for others in the series. I’d like to hope this is also functioning as a training process on possibly doing a brand new one entirely. Hideo Kojima is a great designer, but he is not singularly responsible for everything in these games, and I think someone who has respect for them can step in and make a new one. Between this, the Silent Hill 2 remake, and the upcoming Silent Hill F, I think Konami is making an earnest effort in climbing back up.

Legacy of Snake
As a fan of MGS3, this is really really good. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is top notch. This game has the best story, in my opinion. Experiencing it with this level of fidelity is something special. Excellent work. I'm happy Konami is bringing back these games after years of not seeing any games. Delivered sooner than expected and in excellent condition.

An unnecessary remake but totally necessary reminder of the greatness of action-oriented MGS3
The choice to remake Snake Eater made sense as it felt like the Metal Gear that appealed to most back in the day but also the one that could benefit a lot from updated graphics and mechanics. The original MGS3 looked incredible and Delta takes it to a new level of high definition - the jungle, swamp, and the mountain environments are breath-taking and this new fidelity makes the camo system more believable. The camo, codec, and survival system all receive a huge boost from the original from the directional pad shortcuts and there's a new additional camo effects and easter eggs. Despite the increase in convenience, however, Delta isn't that much of an improvement over MGS3 and even feels a bit worse in performance. Snake in MGS3 already felt clunky compared to the fluid movements of MGS2 and the PS2 struggled with frame drops back in 2004 - two things that sadly resurface in Delta even when the game is set to performance mode. MGS3 still looks amazing and can easily be obtained and played in 2026, negating Delta's biggest selling point and the bonus material seems quaint compared to the original PS2 Subsistence. In summary, Delta is nostalgic but doesn't do enough to be the definitive version full sell price.

I’m 63 years of age and I play the first of the Metal Gear saga many years ago. To me, the best video game I have ever played!
