Ace product
A great product well worth the money. It is just as easy as it shows in the video; I had a very uneven surface and the product dealt with this fine. You need to check you have an even volume once brushed in as it does shrink back a little.I would go as far as to say it was quite fun to use, very satisfying to see it fill up the gaps! You need to keep the stuff and flags wet but it was easy to clean off the excess granules once most was brushed in using he hose to push them off the flags in a systematic way.It will ruin your brush! Also you need a nice dense thick but soft brush. I just used one designed for household sweeping. One tub was almost perfect for my 8 square meter area, could have done with another 5kg just to get the gaps between house and paving nice and full but not the end of the world. Very happy with the product.

Brilliant Product, provided its correctly installed
Using this is certainly much easier and quicker than using mortar - either by the dry mix method or the wet mix piped-in method. However, if you are not careful, you can make an unholy mess of your precious flag stones.First off, this is a product which sets on exposure to dry air, which means you should not order more than you need, since once the bag is opened, it's on its way to setting... Secondly, the setting can be retarded by the mixture being damp, which is why the instructions tell you to wet the surface first. Any mixture left on the surface of the wet flags will not react until it dries, so you have time to sweep it all off into the cracks, provided you work fast. In my case, I wasn't fast enough, it being a warm sunny day, the flags were drying off before I could get all the mixture into the joins. This left a residue of adhesive? on the stone surface, which may or may not come off with time. What I should have done is to read the entry on Jointex in pavingexpert.com first. This tells you that a second wetting after brushing in can be useful to clear up. Me, I thought it would make a mess.Another issue not touched on in the instructions is compaction. Other grouting methods I am familiar with all suggest that compaction is desirable, but if you only brush the grout into the joins and push down on it with the brush, the compaction pressure is limited. Whether that is important or not, the instructions do not say.Well, now I know. The next part of the job will be the brush-in-and-run method with no compaction. We shall see which part survives the best. This product is certainly a chemical miracle and that deserves 5 stars. However, the instructions are a bit too simplistic to ensure first time success.

Fixing a fixing problem
Excellent product. Not quite so easy to apply as the video shows unless you have a a clear, clean, perfectly laid patio but, even if you have a slightly rougher surface to work with, you can make sure the mortar fully fills all the spaces between the stones and any cracks (using, in our case, a spoon) and 24 hours later the mortar has set and the stones are fixed.
