The Standard Pilot Master Log: ASA-SP-6 (Standard Pilot Logbooks)

This is my second logbook. I keep a digital log but still keep a paper logbook. Advice to any beginners: get this logbook as a first log and track digital from your first lesson. You’ll have all your endorsements in one place and be ready to go to that interview when it’s time.

This is physically larger than many logbooks, but it has some essential columns that others lack. Specifically, it has separate columns for takeoffs and landings. While this may seem like a minor issue, it can be important. I learned from a CFI about a pilot who had an accident on a takeoff and the pilot's insurance company challenged their liability because the pilot's logbook listed landings but did not list takeoffs, so there was no record of how many takeoffs the pilot had performed.I know - it sounds petty and stupid, but you need to protect yourself if insurance companies are going to be like that.Also, since you write the entries yourself, this will probably be a better love story than Twilight.

I have over 6,400 hours and have always used these logbooks. They are first class all the way and never had a problem with the manufacturer.

Ordered this for my husband after he did research and decided this was the book for him. A very big decision and not an easy one since this is only his 3rd book in all his many piloting years. He couldn't find the exact same one he had for the last 20 years and I thought for sure there was going to be a meltdown…..lol As we know, men don't like change and I mean that in the nicest way. But he has switched gears and tells me he has adapted and like it.
