Turtles love it. Wish the price had not doubled.

My veterinarian recommended this for my box turtle as part of a diet balanced with leafy greens, fruit, vegetables, and invertebrates. My box turtle loves the taste of the pellets, and they smell nice and fruity to me. I get a new jar every 6 months, because my turtle seems to get less enthusiastic about them right around that time. They must get a bit stale after a while. When I give him fresh pellets from a new jar, he’s enthusiastic about them again. These pellets were developed by a reptile nutritionist and a reptile veterinarian, so I have confidence in their nutritional value. I highly recommend them as part of a balanced diet for box turtles.

The food is great, and I'm not sure I mind bags, it just would have been good to know that it was in bags, not the "jars" as shown.

I’ve been feeding my turtles this food for a while now, and it’s always been good. I haven’t used the food from this new bag yet, so I’m hoping the quality is still the same. That said, the packaging is a let down. The tear strip is useless. I had to cut all the way down to the zipper just to get it open. It’s fine if you change the packaging (I’d prefer it in a container with a lid rather than a zipper) but at the very least, make the bag functional

My box turtle loves this food. I have bought other types of box turtle food and he will not eat, but this food he loves. I always add water to food to soften it. I feed my turtle every other day with cut up veggies. Last me 2-3 months.

Our box turtles are a bit spoiled and this is the only packaged food they both continue to eat readily (others we tried in the past eventually were consistently refused). The food must be succinctly moist before they seem to be interested in eating. I've found that a little warm water soaks in more quickly than cold. If feeding in a bowl/dish, let it soak up some water before offering it, and if using a flat surface, allow the serving of food to soak up water in a cup before spooning it onto a plate. It also seems to only be good (or smell normal...) for the first hour or two after adding water. We've been feeding this to our box turtles for a few years now, and it's the best thing we've found for them

My boxies love this pellets, the aroma is strong which helps trigger their desire to eat. I used to use this in conjunction with T-Rex box turtle food but it seems that food is now discontinued. It is a shame but my boxies seem to not have noticed it's disappearance as much anymore.As a reminder, pellets should be used in conjunction with fresh food as well to maintain proper diet and stimulate eating.
