so far brilliant, bought it to change the oil in the car, have not been able to do that yet,because ,i ordered the tool to remove the oil capon the filter,and twice now with the correct details entered,amazon have managed to send me the wrong size twice. duh.so im still waiting. but it removes water instantly right down to the last drop.PS UPDATE A YEAR LATER. COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS PUMP, MANY APPLICATIONS AND SOLIDPERFORMER. AND TO TOP IT ALL, THEY REPLACED THE PUMP AFTER THE BOTTOM SEAL LEAKED. WOW.IF YOU WANT TO DO ENGINE OIL, BUY THE 6LTR ONE MUCH LESS HASSLE. OTHERWISE THIS LITTLE BEAUTYWILL DO EVERYTHING. WELL DONE THAT COMPANY.

The unit itself is well made and good quality for the price, however there is one very annoying negative. There are two pipes included, one large bore and one small. The larger pipe is glued into the pump fitting and is not removable which is not as per the photo meaning the pipes are not interchangeable. If you need to use the small bore pipe, it must be connected to the large bore pipe ending up with a very long cumbersome pipe. I am told by the suppliers that this is normal despite the photo showing the small pipe (with the red rubber adapter) fitted to the pump without the large pipe. The suppliers did offer to send another set of pipes but warned that the larger pipe would still be glued to the pump adapter.

I have a smart car and recently was carrying out may yearly service since i bought the car about 5 months ago. then noticed i don't have a drain plug. I then went on to Amazon to buy a syphon pump which i came accross this. It is a btrilliant product and well made. Only a few pumps is needed and rest assured it works wonders.

just used it today ,drainin oil from my honda scooter and it works a treat,stick the tube in and pump it once and the oil starts to be extracted straight away,took 2 mins to drain a litre,im happy with it,so much easier than conventional way via the sump nut,good price and arrived in 2 days....brilliant.

Small capacity does mean it won't take a full engine oil change in one but it's convenient size and power more than make up

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and used it twice since to extract medium viscosity oil. It extracts the 1L with a couple of pumps. The supplied pipe was a bit stiff to use so I bought some 10mm flexible polyprop tubing from B&Q and fitted it to the inlet which worked well. Only negative thing to say is it could use a stoppered O-ring cap, as it is all screwed together so very difficult to clean to prevent leakage
